Default What are some good superhero books from Image?

I know Invincible is a hot book, but what about Noble Causes and Hunter Killer? Are they any good, and if they are, what are their jump in issues?

...I know it's not a superhero book...but who else can't wait for Russian Sunset?

Hunter/Killer is quite good. I wouldn't exactly call it a superhero book per se though. It works on the theme of superhumans as weapons to be tracked and contained. This series though is filled with misdirections on a lot of ends. No one is exactly who they appear to be. That is the key to reading it.

Honestly, I think it's Waid's best book right now. It's definitely worth a read. I only hope it goes beyond number twelve.

    All of them.

Seriously, I think they have the best sperhero books on the market. Whenever I pick up a single issue or a trade that has the "IMAGE" brand, I find I'm never disappointed.

Caboose: Or it's a key all the time, and when you stick it in people, it unlocks their death.

Grounded is a pretty good read as well.

I picked up Meltdown #1 on a whim, and really enjoyed it. It's rather expensive, but a fine first issue.

It's only going to be two issues, so I'd say it's worth a shot. And it is quite good.

Noble Causes is fun, and Dynamo 5 is a new one from N.C.'s creator Jay Faerber. More dysfunctional super hero family fun.

Early Savage Dragon was my favorite book up until the whole Kirby tribute in issue 75, but I'm still tempted to go back and collect the trades from there til now.

Mike, as much as I love you for that... Bomb Queen isn't a "hero" book, but in a way , I know what you're saying. There is (from time-to-time) a hero in it and it deals with the psychology of "spandex". However, I'd like to think when people pick up a "superhero" book they're looking for justice, fighting for truth, or trying to help the world be a better place.

Bomb Queen isn't doing any of that. She's a villain.

Still, I understand what you're saying... she's become part of the Image Superhero Universe, so by default she's in league with "superhero comics". Hmmm.... thinking about this as I type, it is a strange beast, indeed.

I just took a peek at issue 23 for Noble Causes...does every issue always start with a sex scene?

    If so, I'm in!
