    Default So when does Ultimates Vol. 3 start?

    And is that a good jump in point to get into Ultimate Marvel?

    The trades of volummes 1 and 2 would be a considerable better starting point than volume 3.
    Nevermind the monthlies, just get the trades.

    And volume 3 won't start for months yet. I'm thinking maybe in half a year or so.

    The first two volumes shouldn't be terribly hard to find, and I highly recomend them. Great books IMO. I also recomend picking up the current Ult Spider-man and FF arcs. Awesome stuff too.

    Also don't hold your breath about U3. It's basically out when it's out, y'know? I'm finding it harder and harder to trust initial release dates nowadays, but the end product is usually worth the wait.

    Well, in all honesty, I was never interested in the Ultimate uni. until I heard Ultimate Vol. 3 is being done by Joe Mad. (That Onslaught Reborn #2 variant is absolutely gorgeous). I was hanging out at my LCS today and they raved about it. I especially love Captain America's character.

    I'm scared to ask since it's probably somewhere else on this board, but other than those Ulti. TPBs recommended, what else is good to check out?

    I can only speak from vol 1 but it is a very good series that you should pick up from the beginning.

    In the Ultimate Universe, Ultimate Spider-Man is a great read.
    The Ultimate Collection is shipping in a few months, and has the first 13 issues for a very reasonable price. dcbs has that trade for 50% off.

    And the Mark Millar on Ult. X-Men (first bunch of trades) run was rather splendid. All the really good X-Men stories are written by mad Scotsmen, it seems.

    I'm currently enjoying Ultimate Vision. (Although it might be a little hard to follow without reading Ultimate Nightmare, Ultimate Secret and Ultimate Extinction runs.) But the second issue of U. Vision was very good and I'm hoping that the following issues will prove to be just as interesting.

    Holy crap! I just read Ultimates volume 1 today and it was awesome!

    Absolutely awesome. My absolute favorite part was

    spoilers






    The Stevester and the old Buckster hugging with the Buckster shedding a tear. Definitely touching. The alien battle was kick ass too. Especially with the way puny Banner was tooled by Steve into thinking all those Aliens slept with Betty..but seriously, "Hulk smash Freddie Prinze Junior" and "Hulk STRAIGHT!"

    Why is Hulk so damn insecure?

    When is Ultimates 3 coming out?

    Well, the last issue of Ultimates 2 is now shipping mid March according to marvel.com, and there is no solit for Vol.3 #1 in April solits so probably still a good while.
