I'm not convinced that anyone will die here, but if someone does it will be Aunt May, which could explain why Peter is "Back in Black". I'm prett sure they're waiting for JMS's Spidey finale pencilled by Joe Q to decide MJ's fate.
Did everyone forget about the Human Torch? He was not there just to locate Spiderman. Captain America wants him to look out for Peter's family also. Did you notice at the end of the issue, Torchy is not there with the other heroes. Sure, they didn't show a lot of the heroes, but I'm sure the Torch is going to protect MJ and Aunt May...
I hope.
And if he doesn't, I think Joe Q. is off his rocker thinking Mary Jane hinders the creative processs with Spiderman.
does anybody know were I can get a hold of that issue. I have been out of all comic news and forums since october. mom dad grounded me bad for reading criminal.
Spider-Man donning his old black costume cannot be out of grief for Mary Jane. Why? Because she HATES that costume and has since she was attacked by Venom in ASM 299-300. It would be stepping all over her memory if he chose to wear it in grief over losing her. The only way I could see him going back to that look is if Venom ceased to exist by Peter reclaiming the Symbiote.
I'm thinking they (Marvel editorial) feels that Venom's look has changed enough that Spider-Man wearing the black suit won't be so hard to follow.
Here's an idea, maybe it's not so much a hit as just sending Spider-man a lesson that his family isn't safe and Kingpin (or whoever) can get them at any time.
It's possible that the shooter could hospitilize both MJ and May without killing them. if you've got Spidey's family in the hospital where they can't leave, you've got more to dangle over his head than if you put them in the grave.
