    Talking Spider-Man Video Game Megathread

I admitedly have never read the Maximum Carnage crossover, as I wasn't reading comics at the time. But what I did love was the video for SNES, I played it for hours on end, day and night, beat it many times (one trick I found worked well on Carnage was switching back and fourth between Spider-Man & Venom quickly, dealing a few punches, then switching, and so on, for the sake of the temporary invinsibility). And the red cartridge ruled.

Meh, it was kind of weak compared to the original Spider-Man game on Genesis, or it's remake on the Sega CD. Up until the original PlayStation game, those were the only Spider-Man games to really feel like Spider-Man. Hell, the Genesis one, you got cash for taking pictures!

Yeah, I spent an inordinate amount of time playing the original SNES game, I loved it. At one point I was able to beat the entire game as Spider-Man without losing a life. Downloaded an emulator version for PC about and year ago, and while I wasn't able to beat it without losing a life, I did beat the game on my first try. It's like riding a bike really, you never forget.

I used to have the Gensis game you speak of at one point, I could never beat... Venom, I believe it was, on some rooftop.

nah maximum carnage is the best spidey game ever and has one of the best soundtracks for a game ever.

I have to find that game somewhere.

I also spent many an hour playing the Maximum Carnage game. Amazingly accurate to the storyline. I think The Deep was my favorite level.

i had the game, it was okay.
the genesis spider-man game based on the cartoon was pretty difficult.
i had some other snes spider-man game, where you could play as spidey and venom as well, separation anxiety. that was my favorite spidey game of that era.
    and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...

Difficult? Alistar Smythe as the Ultimate Spider-Slayer was freaking impossible!

i also had 'war of the gems' for snes, which had spidey, wolverine, captain america, iron-man, and the hulk as playable characters, a fun game, not too difficult.
    and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...

I would save the whole FF for him (the spider slayer on the roof) and pray to God I got lucky.

Default When will we get a good 616 Spider-man game?

We´ve had a great game based on the second movie and most people seem to like the Ultimate game to, won´t buy it. So now I wonder why they won´t make a game that is based of the 616 version, aka the original, version of Spider-man.
Whoever makes this game could take all the good stuff from the previous games and put them together and do lots of cool stuff.
Hulk got a freakishly cool game based on his 616 version so why not do the same for Spidey? Does anybody agree with me?
This has been the ramblins of a Spider-man fan who wants a game that is based on the 616 version of good old Spidey.

I think that a good Ultimate Spider-Man game (what with the Ultimate line being typically "hipper" and more relatable to a younger audience) sets up a promisisng series of Spider-Man games and makes a 616 Spidey game redundant.

I mean, either way it's Spider-Man. As long as I get to thwip around through the city and beat up familiar bad guys, I personally will be happy.

They can adapt many 616 storylines for a game.Like Mark Millar's Marvel Knights storyline. Think how much ass that would kick!
