Wink HEAT to reform in 2007!

Yes, I think it's time for Hal's Evil Alterego Team to unite and demand that Hal Jordan be returned to his rightful role in the DC Universe, that of an insane mass-murder out to remake the cosmos.

For too long this travesty of Hal's return has ruined this once great character. I demand that the next issue of Justice League open with Hal standing over Speedy's smoking corpse laughing about how everyone believed his story about the Yellow Fear Monster.

Failing that I'll take hal as the Spectre.

    Who's with me?
    Ted Kord is Blue Beetle!
Kyle Rainer is the one true Green Lantern!
    Wally West is the Flash!
    Donna Troy is Wonder Girl!

I used to be a member of H.E.A.T. Wonder if my membership lapsed? Hmm.

    Agreed.

Hal was far more interesting to me as Parallax than as a GL.

DC really wasted an oppotunity by barely doing anything with Parallax (except for Zero Hour) when he could have been their company's "Magneto".

Membership in prior incarnations of HEAT will be automatically transferred to the new version.

Whether they want it to or not! :D

I couldn't agree more. I loved the idea that one of the DCU's mainstays fell from grace. Hal instantly became tragic and someone I could sympathize with. I've never really cared about "square-jawed, test-pilot, Hal Jordan", but I liked Parallax quite a bit.

Couldn't we just kill Hal again and leave Kyle, John, andGuy as Earth's GL'S?:evilsmile

I'd much rather have Hal as a villian, even if he doesn't see himself that way. The Magneto angle is a much more intresting role for him and out of all earth's GLs he's defintley the least intresting.

...But... Wasn't H.E.A.T. all about bringing Hal back as a hero?

...Geez, some people are never satisfied...

edit: and before anyone flames me, I intended this in jest...

I loved Parallax. I am still disappointed that he was so sorely underutilized. I always saw him more as the DCU's Darth Vader, rather than the DCU's Magneto, though.

Not a longtime Hal fan as I primarily remember Kyle as GL, but why did they bring Hal back as a GL, anyway? Was the "retro-reboot-rebirth" even necssary? It smacks of a hot creator having an itch to do something "important" that would generate short term interest...
