Default Has or how did Kraven return?

I just re-read Kraven's Last Hunt (I got the hard cover) and in the second last book he shoots himself... but hasn't he returned from the grave since then?

I know there was a son running around... but didn't the real Kraven come back??? And if so how?

If he didn't... just ignore this! ;)

    :D

To my knowledge, he's the only villian of the spidey rogue that has stayed dead. Dr. Octupos himself should stay dead as well after the mark of Kain. I like that Kraven stays dead and would also like marvel to instead focus on the character of ultimate kraven.

Wow... so they actually kept him dead!

Thanks. I always thought that was a fantastic ending and am glad they didn't ruin it.

    Yes, it's pretty neat.

The Kraven in Claws was a robot.

Kraven's ghost appears in the Soul of the Hunter one-shot by Dematteis/ Xeck, which is a worthwhile purchase for Last Hunt fans.

    But yeah- he's stayed dead.

I actualy just put that Trade down 5 min. ago. Thats a great story as well, but I miss Beck :(. But yeah I'm glad that Kraven has stayed dead since he shot himself. And since they have his son in his place it helps them keep him dead instead of using something such as an "unknown healing factor" or a robot/clone double excuse as to how the real one is still alive. Not saying I'm mad that the goblin lived, cause he's a great villian, but it gets old when the dead constantly comes back to life. Kind of makes reading some stories pointless and dare I say makes me question my hobby and love of reading comics.

    His son is lame.
I was all excited when he came back and shot the chameleon because it looked like original Kraven with greying hair etc. But then they just wimped out and made him his son. Gah.
On the other hand I'm glad he's stayed dead as Kraven's last Hunt was an amazing story.

To me this is also why Kraven is considered a popular villain because he is one of the very few Spider-Man villains to have ever stayed dead.

I've said it many times, I used to think of Kraven as a joke. He was like a funny Russian guy out of The Simpsons who I'd always laugh at because of his hilarious ways.

My opinion of him dramatically changed after reading "Kraven's Last Hunt" last year. This story defined him as one of Spidey's greatest enemies. It's one of the greatest Spider-Man stories that I've ever read and it gave me a whole lot of respect for him. It's one of my main goals this year to get the whole crossover in original print.

Oh Hey! This is my first post of 2007. Happy New Year fellow CBR members. I look forward to what this year holds for this kick-ass forum. Keep up the good work as moderator as well, Sean Whitmore.

Looks like I've made my first edit of 2007 as well. :)

Like the guy said, it's a stand-alone one shot.

Not too bad an epilogue, and an interesting look at dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic event.

Shhh....don't say that too loud or you'll jinx it. :D

I totally agree that resurrecting Kraven would neuter KLH, the same way digging up Aunt May took the impact out of ASM #400, "The Gift." As annoying as I find his nitwit son "Al Kraven," I'll deal with him running around calling the MU himself Kraven the Hunter if the upside is that no Spidey writer gets the shortsighted idea of bringing back the original for a lame "Return of Kraven" story.

Didnt Callypso (or whatever he name was) try and resurrect Kraven in the 1st couple Todd McFarlane Spiderman issues?

Also, since when did the Chameleon become Kraven's brother who thinks he now is Kraven? To me that's pretty lame. Chameleon is a great villian, he doesnt need to be a crazy copy of his now all of a sudden dead brother, when Al Kraven is still out there.

I remember Kraven standing in front of Spidey with a hole in his head, but I can't remember if he was a real, physical zombie or just something Calypso's drugs were making him see.

Their relation was revealed in the "Pursuit" storyline, where Spider-Man hunted down the mastermind behind his killer robot parents. (heh) And yeah, it was pretty lame. Not that something COULDN'T have been done with the idea, it's just that...nothing WAS done with the idea.

It was like addressing a thirty-year-old plot point that nobody remembered. "How did the Chameleon and Kraven know each other prior to ASM #15? Why, they were brothers! Now it can be told." Great.
