    Default 2006-07 NCAA Basketball

Well, it's about time for me to start looking forward to March Madness.

    Here's the AP top 20:

    1. UCLA (71) 11-0
    2. North Carolina (1) 10-1
    3. Florida 11-2
    4. Wisconsin 12-1
    5. Duke 11-1
    6. Ohio State 10-2
    7. Arizona 9-1
    8. Alabama 11-1
    9. Kansas 10-2
    10. Pittsburgh 11-2
    11. Texas A&M 10-2
    12. Connecticut 10-0
    13. Oklahoma State 12-1
    14. Washington 10-1
    15. Butler 12-1
    16. Wichita State 9-2
    17. LSU 7-3
    18. Marquette 12-2
    19. Notre Dame 10-1
    20. Oregon 11-0
    21. Tennessee 10-2
    22. Memphis 9-3
    23. Air Force 11-1
    24. Nevada 10-1
    25. Clemson 12-0

UCLA spanked a decent U of Michigan team by 40 points recently, made me “a believer.”

And Florida defeating Ohio State by 20 was impressive also.

I'm from Indianapolis so I love Greg Oden. I can't believe Florida spanked Ohio St. so badly last weekend.

Well, once Oden got in foul trouble, Florida blew 'em out. It was close until then.

Makes me wonder if Ohio State is leaning on the big guy too much.

Love him or hate him, Bob Knight now has more wins than any other college basketball coach

Texas Tech win gives Knight historic 880th victory

Football is over, and the Gators are in position to clean up yet again.

UCLA looked unbeatable a week ago. UCLA loses to Oregon and drops form it’s perch. Oregon proves its for real.

And the Big 10 is looking more like the Big 2 (made for a boring football season – will make for a boring hoop season)

    AP top 20:

    1. North Carolina (64) 14-1
    2. Florida (3) 14-2
    3. Wisconsin (1) 15-1
    4. UCLA (4) 14-1
    5. Ohio State 13-2
    6. Kansas 13-2
    7. Pittsburgh 14-2
    8. Texas A&M 13-2
    9. Oklahoma State 15-1
    10. Arizona 12-2
    11. Duke 13-2
    12. Butler 14-1
    13. LSU 11-3
    14. Alabama 13-2
    15. Oregon 14-1
    16. Tennessee 13-2
    17. Clemson 16-0
    18. Air Force 15-1
    19. Nevada 13-1
    20. Memphis 11-3
    21. West Virginia 13-1
    22. Washington State 14-2
    22. Notre Dame 13-2
    24. Connecticut 12-2
    25. Texas 11-3

Other than anything Terrell Owens does, Knight achieving this feat was the sports story I cared least about. Just happy it's over.

I'm not a big college basketball fan. When I was at Michigan in the mid to late 80s, we were good. Loved Rice and those guys. But I was only into it when we were good. I prefer the pro game (and I know that's blasphemy to some but forgive me.)

I just can't get excited until the conference tournaments start. But at least NCAA hoops has a tournament to determine a champion - decide it on the courts!

    Oh, and Duck Fuke.

    Go Temple!

Anytime Duke loses, it's a good day.

If Duke would of lost yesterday then the day for me would of been a wash.

Tonight O-State is playing the Badgers

Hopefully the Buckeyes can pull it out, seeing how they have yet to beat a ranked team and all.

Aaaaand the Buckeyes go down again! The Badgers are looking pretty damn good this year - but the ending of that game should not have even been close, what with the lead they had most of the second half.

And speaking of Duke - did anyone else see my team the Kent State Golden Flashes almost beat them a month ago? It was great to read all of these sportswriters and blogs int he area writing off the game as a total gimmie - the MAC really showed up, especially considering how over-matched they were.

Florida should win the whole thing. There too good IMO.

But there is way too many good Mid-Major teams this year. I think its the Missouri Valley Conference where every team has a satrong winning record. Id watch out cause those teams can suprise people come March.

Aaaaand . . Beatcats WIN! 96-83 in OT. Closer than the score indicated, WVU started launching 3's and fouling and the game got away from them in OT.

I noticed more teams are wearing their colors at home, rather than going with the traidtional white uniforms. Cincinnati was wearing red at home and they wear black on the road (Bearcast colors are black and white). I also noticed Ohio Stae is wearing gray at home, and Illinois wears Orange. Michigan has been going wth their Maize uniforms at home for years.

Just something a uniform nerd would notice. :D
