Default No Love for the Spidey Vixens?

I was reading "Claws" earlier, and it got me thinking: the White Rabbit is such a fantastic, hilarious villain, but is hardly ever used. She, like most of the Spider-Man villainesses, are always overlooked and passed by for other villains such as Electro or the Rhino. Granted, you can't really compare the White Rabbit to Rhino, but my God, where's the gender equality?

Spider-Man has some great villainesses, such as:

Princess Python, who is one of the first females encountered by Spider-Man. However, because she belongs to the Circus of Crime (or at times, the Serpent Society), she never really could pose a credible threat as a solo villainess.

The White Rabbit, as mentioned before. However, I think she'd make a much better antagonist for, say... Squirrel Girl! In my dreams, Squirrel Girl has her own series and the White Rabbit is her major enemy.

Scorpia, although she takes the name from a male villain, she is quite a badass in her own right. And I loved her most recent appearance in the Spidey/Black Cat mini, she should definitely be used more.

Stunner, one of the most interesting and complex villains Spider-Man has faced, despite only appearing in 10-something issues. I loved the fact that she was secretly a shy, overweight girl, because obviously there's a lack of realistic women. They could easily have her "awaken" from her coma and cause a little trouble for Spider-Man.

Calypso, though I haven't read much of her honestly. I heard she died again, but I mean, with a character like her, it'd be easy to bring her back.

Others like Shriek, Delilah, Shathra, and Lady Octopus are pretty neat, but they don't really stick out in my mind, personally. I just think the Spider-Villainesses should get some love. Have overused villains like Venom and the various Jack O' Lanterns sit out a few battles and give it to the ladies for once!

I also like Shriek and Stunner. I enjoyed how she was portrayed during the Shrieking storyline in Amazing Spider-Man and think the who warped family thing she had going was a pretty cool way of giving her a little more depth than your average psychotic supervillain.

The concept of Stunner was pretty cool too, and it's a shame there wasn't greater exploration of her relationship with Ock prior to his "death."

Yes, but I did enjoy some of the tender moments they shared together that we were shown:

The problem is that the vixens just aren't as good as the male villains: Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblins, Roderick Kingsley/ Hobgoblin, Venom, Sandman, Curt Connors/ The Lizard, Mysterio, hell even-Fusion.

Omg Stunner was awesome. That story where Doc Ock still loves her even though she's not stunning and all hooked up to life support kills me.

    Shriek was cool!
    Joystick was cool.

I love Delilah. I loved the sleek defined badass asassin in her first appareance. I also love the huge asskicking tank that took the head from el uno.

    I loved Aura too.

Calypso was good. Last I saw the NewKraven snapped her neck?

I liked female Doc Ock. she took on 2 spider-mans and trounced them.

Stunner was a good villain, too bad she was a part of the clone saga (meaning we probably won't see her outside of the Spider-Girl universe hint hint)...

How about the burglar's daughter? Maybe they can turn her into a Spider-villainess... Outside of Black Cat, I don't think Spidey's ever had an influential villainess...

They could easily shine just as much as the males if the writers used them more often and had them accomplish more. :)

Apart from the whole psycotic murderess thing, I always kinda had a crush on Shriek.

QFT. I like a lot of the Spidey vixens, like Shriek, Joystick, White Rabbit, Delilah, Stunner, and Lady Octopus. Pity they tend to sit unused on the shelf while writers keep returning to the Norman Osborn well over and over again. There are lots of cool ways to utilize the female villains while still having the obligatory appearances by the major male ones (such as having Stunner and Lady Ock team up to break Doc Ock out of prison, Shriek trying to assemble another "family" using other psychotic Spidey rogues, or Delilah working as Wilson Fisk's assassin when he inevitably returns), so it's too bad that they aren't used to their potential.

That'd be odd, seeing as Delilah was working for Jacob Conover, aka the Rose, who took the name from Wilson Fisk's son. Speaking of which, I'd love for ol' Jakey to return. Not that big on Delilah, but if it meant the Rose's return, I'd be down. :D

I just don't like how the Spidey writers keep creating NEW female villains when there's a slew of old ones that are just waiting to be used. Besides, they're not going to gain any popularity (or notoriety rather) by slumbering in limbo.

i want to see an Olivier Copiel-drawn White Rabbit. he did a beautiful job of revamping Viper. i bet he could do even better with WR.
