I heard he was sick but I didn't imagine it was that bad.

This is a major loss to the whole world.

    RIP

In the history of American popular music, JB stood as one of the most seminal creators and performers. Few musicians have had as much influence as JB did (and still does), and he put on a dazzling show (and I know, 'cause I saw him many moons ago, and he was fantastic). The Hardest Working Man in Show-Biz finally gets a well-deserved break.

Damn. It's already sad enough to watch Blues Brothers without realizing all that great talent is gone.

It really sucks for his loved ones (especially his kids) because from now on, December 25th won't only be Christmas, but the day their husband/father/friend died.

I managed to see him a few times in the last few years, the last time was at Glastonbury last year. He wasn't what you call the most mobile person and most of the vocals were done by his backing singers, however his sheer presence on stage was amazing and showed himself as one of the real greats in modern music.

His was one of the greatest live shows I've ever seen, and he was 61 at the time. One of the greats.
    Hope he's at peace now.
    My blog.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

I read last night that he was rushed to the hospital for severe pneumonia and had a bad feeling it wouldn't be long.

But I had no idea he'd die today. Damn. :(
