I've seen a lot of Top 5 Best Batman stories, but which ones would you rank as the top 5 worst Batman stories? And why?

- War Games. Do I actually have to spell out why?
- Cataclysm. Anything featuring th frelling Ventriloquist as its main villain has got to be bad.
- Hush. Undid all the positive growth in characterisation from Murderer/Fugitive, and didn't make one whit of sense as a mystery story.
- Lieberman's Gotham Knights. For the same reasons as War Games, only slightly less so.
- The Shumacher movies.
- And the Tim Burton movies as well, actually. Batman does not stuff dynamite down people's trousers.
'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."
Can't argue with the The Shumacher movies. I read Cataclysm and I thought it was alright. Although I read Contagion and I hated the ending. Actually most of the story left me scratching my head. I'm just getting into No Man's Land so I'll see how that goes. I hope I have a different opinion from you of Hush and War Games when I get to them.
Batman & Robin, period.
Any episode of the first season of The Batman.
War Crimes.
Under the Hood.
A freakin' lot of Silver Age Batstories. Really, tons of that stuff made the Adam West show to look like Shakespeare in comparison.
You left out Legacy between Contagion and Cataclysm.
Hush has pretty art, and some very cool scenes, but no story to speak of.
It is not bad in itself. It's just that it undid all the growth that Rucka and Brubaker put into the character the previous two years or so post-No Man's Land.

i actually kinda liked the War Drums/Game series. what was wrong with it?
I'd say the movies were all bad, except for Batman Begins.
All Star Batman & Robin.
No explanation necessary.

I've seen a lot more "worst Batman stories" than "best Batman stories" conversations myself... something about fans I guess.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. The arse that is Arkham-bloody-Asylum.
The short-lived Larry Hama run on BATMAN.
Buried Alien (The Fastest Post Alive!)
The responses are as predictable as they are sad.
The Robin arc where Batman says that time travel is impossible.
It doesn't matter what the writer, artist, or editor had in mind when they created it, or what they said in an interview;
all that matters is what is on the page.

I'd assume it's Post-Wertham Golden Age crap that's just been forgotten before most of us were born.
For me, it has to be Batman: Year Two and Batman: Cataclysm. That is of the Batman stories I've read though. Cataclysm might seem to be bad because of how good No Man's Land was.
