Okay, So, I just started Reading Ult Spidy and...

Just started reading Ult Spidy. Yeah, I know, almost seven years late...

I've read the first TPB, and am now reading the second. I think the series is great. I'd been meaning to start reading it for a couple of years now, but never got round to starting. Stupid me!

The thing that attracted me most to the series, was Peter is still in high school, which I think is cool. I'm a sucker for the teen crap, my favourite comics are New X-Men, Runaways and Spider-Man Loves Mary-Jane, lol. And also, it started at the bagnning. Kinda. I mean, they changed it a little, but, meh.

The only nit-pick I have is... they can her "Mary" most of the time! Its Mary-JANE! MARY-JANE! Does this get "corrected" after a while? Or is it always like this in Ultimate Spider-Man?

Can't wait to get Vol #3!

USM is a good series. You'll love Ultimate Doc Ock in volume 3.

It goes back and forth. They call her MJ, Mary-Jane or Mary. It had been a while since I had read Ultimate Spidey and I have been catching up on Ultimate X-Men and Spidey is in it for a couple issues and he calls her Mary. It threw me a little but then remember how he did call her Mary. You kind of get used to it. The first time I read USM and he was talking about Mary I didn't make the connection at all. There are small differences in the Ultimate Universe but I think for the most part they are better written and I really enjoy the stories.

"Cinderella" just started reading the series about two weeks ago. She up to trade #13. she loves the story so far and I gonna get her reading the ultimates when she finish spidy. She also read mary jane loves spider-man.so I need to get her the rest of that as well. I guess she now see the different between Archie comics and Marvel.

I started reading it about a month ago, just waiting to order volume 4 and 5. I really love this series, one of the most consitently amazing comics I've read. And the art is ace, I also love how they've reinvented some of the characters origins etc. I think the 'Battle Royale' Issue was the best fight, but the Doc Ock battle is almost as good.

P.S. - The bit where they're about to kiss and MJ says 'Face it, tiger, you just hit the jackpot' is brilliant, had been waiting for her to say that.

I have read the first 8 trades and am just waiting for more money to buy more but I am also taking a break from Spidey right now trying to get caught up on all of the Ultimate Universe so i can read them all together to know what is going on. I think that atleast what I have read so far have been my favorite comics so far. There are some others that are good most of the time but Ult Spidey is great all of the time, in my opinion.
