Default Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #15 *Spoilers*

For lack of a thread, just a warning you might be put on notice for this CBR :p

Great issue, did PAD make some sort of deal cause suddenly he's got a good portion of the old Spidey supporting cast on this book. First the regulars (May and MJ) then Flash, "Uncle Ben", last issue Deb Whitman, plus "Ben Reilly" and now.. Betty Brant.

Great to see Betty being back in the Spiderverse she was greatly missed. Course now that she's back I can now start counting down the days PAD can bring in Hobgoblin to pester her for revealing his id to the world and being a pain. Guess that one panel of him behind Spidey, Ned and her will have to do for now. :D

Though question about the Ms Arrow eating a spider. Um is she related to Renfeld or was that another clue as to who she is? :p

So um can we have a clone or alternate universe Gwen Stacey or Harry Osborn appear next in the book? ;)

Great issue all around. Betty has been sorely missed, and I've been anxious to see her reaction to Peter's unmasking more than most. Even if she more or less made peace with Spider-Man already, it must come as a great relief to finally realize WHY he was always involved in her life.

The Vulture is a great villain when he's not being played for laughs, and it's cool to see him get a bit of backstory. I mean, the guy must be 80 years old, and what do we know about him before he became the Vulture? Besides that his business partner screwed him shortly before.

Question for PAD if he's around...how exactly would Flash's memory loss be described? Initially I assumed he just couldn't remember anything since college (which is about the last time he was in "Puny Parker" mode). But if he remembers (even vaguely) that he and Betty dated recently, that would suggest his memory is all over the map.

I just assumed he was playing around in order to not scare away the beautiful woman who just walked up and kissed him :p

    Great issue.

This issue had the feel of a great classic Spiderman story. It also had a great Civil War tie-in which I didn't really see coming.

Loved the cliffhanger. PAD changed it up. It's usually "Oh no! Will our hero survive?!?" but in this one, he has that moment, then hangs the story on "Oh no! Will our villain survive?!?"

    I thought that was neat.

P.S. Deb Whitman is an idiot.

This was a great issue. Deb Whitman, Flash, and Betty all in one issue. Oh man, Spider-Man has a supporting cast again. Now, if we can just see more of Jonah, Robbie, and Ben Urich, then life would be grand.

The intro bit with a younger Vulture and his brother was awesome. Nice bit of insight into Tommes' psychology. I really felt for his brother.

I am really intrigued as to who the mystery person is who hired Toomes.

Wow. What a great issue. As PastePotPete noted, it had all the elements of the great classic Spidey stories. Notable appearances by supporting cast members (Betty, Flash, and Deb), references to previous Spidey history, and Vulture being portrayed as a formidable villain again as opposed to a joke (Aguirre-Sacasa, take note: this is how the villains in 'Deadly Foes of Peter Parker' should have been written, not as the laughable punching bags that you turned them into). Loved the Vulture flashback opening sequence and the back-and-forth arguing between him and his government "sponsors." I'm assuming that he's having a heart attack on the last page? :(

Blight, you are not the only one hoping the one-panel Hobgoblin flashback cameo foreshadows Kingsley cutting his Carribean vacation short and travelling to the pages of PAD's FNSM for an extended stay....

This was a great issue. I found it funny that Colbert was at the book signing.

Yeah great part of showing that Spiderman has a few more privat relationships than just MJ and May.
Those characters simply owned a right to reapear.

Alone Flash for having been cool in House of M Iron man.

By the way the Stephen Colbert cameo was funny as hell.

About Ms. Arrow. For the last time the name is a red hering. Its the Other. Last issue we had the Cocon and now this little scene.
PAD himself said that one of the 2007 storylines would be about her and all those small scenes look like a build up.

'Not-Colbert' should definitely become a recurring JJJ-style character in FNSM, starting a public crusade against Spidey's anti-Americanism and placing him at the top of the Threatdown.
