Greatest DC cover ever?
Waxing ecstatic just now over the cover of FF #48 in the Classic Comics Christmas Third Day thread, I was reminded that I've been meaning to post about something I noticed yesterday while reading this week's first ish of the revival of The Spirit ... namely, DC Art Director Mark Chiarello's asking readers, in the "DC Nation" column, for their pick of "the best cover that has ever appeared on a DC comic." The accompany gallery of some 60-odd thumbnails includes a couple of particularly strong candidates in Action #1 & Flash #163.
Obviously, I'm going to have to study on this one, though I have a sneaking suspicion that my choice will have been rendered by either Joe Kubert or Carmine Infantino. Or maybe Russ Heath. Or possibly Curt Swan. Maybe Neal Adams ...
Anyway, for those wanting their choices counted, votes (only one per participant) end at midnight 1/5/07 & should go to DCNATIONCOVERS@DCCOMICS.COM.

Only one vote per person???!!!
DC are very modest about their covers.
I have a sneaking suspicion that my choice will have been rendered by either Joe Kubert or Nick Cardy.

Yep -- one (wo)man, one vote.
Cardy occurred to me, too, given my fondness for much of his Teen Titans work.
I have this sinking feeling that the ultimate winner will be something from the last few years ...

all out of gum. . .
Nick Cardy. BatLash 2. Either that, or Neal Adams' fantastic cover for House of Mystery 186.
