    Hi Bob,
That's okay. We just got the processed returned check from the bank here. I figured the holidays had you in the grip.

Our home computer has had a progressively worsening problem with connecting to the internet, I firmly believe it is hardware related. This week it finally gave up the ghost. So, I am writing you from a friends computer.

    Sorry to hear that.

One last bit of bad news, my wife's mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer (originally believed to be only skin cancer but was discovered to be in her bones and in her major internal organs -including her liver). She is a breast cancer survivor and is only 55 years old. She is not expected to last the remainder of this week. I have been very wrapped up in supporting my wife through this, as she has taken much of her mother's hospice care upon herself. I am not telling you this to be morose or for the pitty, not at all. I know that you have dealt with the same stuff in your life and would understand. You know how it is.

Oh no! My goodness! I wouIdn't wish this misfortune on anyone. I am so sorry to learn of this. I know that while my own mother was in the hospital, I visited her each day of the 4 she was alive. Yet the very morning of the day she died, I felt that morning upon waking up that I should stay home. So I did. Thing was, I had had a dream that very night before waking up that morn that had my mom telling me it was okay and that she'd be fine.

55 years is to young though. I'll pray for her, your wife, and family.

With all that has happended, I hope you know that I wish you and your family a joyful and peaceful Christmas/Holiday, and New Year. Thanks for everything, and again, I am sorry for not confirming payment.

No problem, Bob. You take care of your wife and family needs. This will be a tough holiday season for you all, but I hope it is filled with a counter balance of good memories of the past holidays.

I have a question, and it isn't about your private life Mr. Olney. Since it has to do with comments you made on these boards, which are public, it de facto concerns your public life.

Do you stand by the comments which you have made here, under the username "orcafresh", or do you recant, and apologize for them?

Its the battle of good vs evil Gail. Back in the 80's Hulk Hogan was like a superhero to kids. I came in as a fan with that. Then I discovered comics later. But Hulk was like Superman. If the bad villain was kickin the heroes ass , Hogan would show and save someone.

My only memory of contact with this fellow is he used to write me repeatedly asking for donations of comics and such when I was still self publishing. I recall no personal contact at all. I may have met him at a show, but a conversation about his military career? Un unh. I'd certainly remember a conversation with someone who was location-challenged.

Since he claims he met me in the context of also meeting Susan Alston, that would have to have been no later than 1994.

By the way, has anyone looked into his "charity" status? Did anyone get paperwork backing up their donations, where they went, the value, the tax deductible status? What's the deal with that? Did he ever file the proper papers to declare himself a charity? How do we know donations got from Point A to Point B? And did he just take the tax deductions for his own "company"?

I never got to SEE a confirmation from him! This is the first I have ever been shown of him saying he got paid. And you omit the scores of emails before that asking where the hell his money is AND this was after MY paypal account got suspended because he made payment to that for YOU and thus, a claim was put against me.

And this is not payment, this is a refund for a table to the con u never had.

Now let me bring up the members of the Sci Fi show GHOSTHUNTERS who are also mad at not being paid for thier appearance at the MMC. You promised them upfront payments, then changed thier contracts and had ME redistribute them to the people who already signed a contract with you.

No, Newport News was where Collen was. Or there abouts. I used to use I-64 to get across the river and on my way to get to Richmond to pick up I-95. I'd then shhot up i-95 to Quantico, and when I had business in Washington I simply went a little further up the road.
