Well, it's a good thing he never worked for Wal-Mart. That smiley face would make for one boring comic book character!

You know...
until this thread I HAD NO IDEA that all law
is hinged on the NDA (non disclosure agreement)
but then I went back through the history books
and discovered this exchange:
"Free the SLAVES!"
"Can't! They didn't sign their NDA!"
"LET MY PEOPLE GO!"
"NO! Not until they sign the NDA!"
Well, I certainly meant no disrespect to George Caragonne's memory. I only met him once or twice and I was impressed with his friendliness and enthusiasm, on first impression, a great guy.
But from what I've heard from friends and coworkers of George's, drugs and insurmountable debt took their toll until George felt there was no way out. And although cocaine had fried his brain, the way he committed suicide was all about George; he obviously wanted to leave this reality in a manner that was attention-getting and dramatic in the extreme. George was about my size, as I recall -- and I weigh well over 300 pounds -- so the aftermath of his multi-story swan dive onto the ground floor garden area -- where a party was in progress -- of a highrise hotel must have been utterly and inescapably horrific. I hear that there are witnesses to his selfish suicide who are still in therapy to get over having liquified comic book editor splattered across their faces.
George may have been a wonderful person, but thanks to his desperate need for attention, he not only ended his own life but ruined those of many others. And as for his place in funnybook history, he's only remembered as "that asshole who committed suicide in the worst imaginable way".
Are you taking notes, Rick Olney? (About something other than my weight?) You really need to do something about your problems with debt, honesty and being the center of attention before you're driven to do something like George did.
Or, in some weird way, is that exactly what you're trying to do here -- killing your reputation?
Aloha,
Scott!

With the Corries coming up this is a lock to win Best Thread of 2006. It has all the fun to make it. With Industry heavywieghts like Mark Waid , Kurt Busiek and Gail Simone wieghing in against someone. When the guy who wrote Kingdom Come shows up and offers to battle you , ya know its reaching a status not seen on CBR in awhile.
MacQuarrie here is Waid's current books and someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Supergirl & the Legion of Superheroes
Brave & the Bold ( starting in Jan. or Feb.)
I'm awaiting Brave and Bold with a hunger unforseen. As a guy collecting the old B & B series I can't wait to see all the cool teamups. Jonah Hex & Batman soon ? :p

"Heads up-- If Havok's position in UA #5 really upset you, it's time to drown yourself hobo piss. Seriously, do it. It's the only solution." - Rick Remender
Sucks 200 character limit.
God, Rick Oweme's latest blog is a total and utter disconnect from reality.
It's like a convicted serial rapist believing that he'd make a great candidate to work in a home for battered women.
