    Default Frank Cho's Interesting Interview...

Now that we are done discussing Alex Ross... perhaps it is time to look at Frank Cho's interview at Newsarama.

Some people I know happen to like attractive men.

Well I guess we know Frank does not like attractive men.

    Now that is just homophobic.

Can you really be considered homophobic if you insult a fictional heterosexual man? Isn't that a "tree falling in the woods and no one hearing it" situation?

    Is this a joke thread?

No disrespect if not, I'm just not seeing the same thing you are.

To be fair, Sentry does look like a big Nancy Boy. Saying so isn't really Homophobic. :D

I thought it was funny, Tommy.

I wanna' see Cho write a book where he embellishes men's junk as much as he does women's knockers. Could you imagine him on Spider-Man with Pete's package bouncin' around in those tights while he swung around Manhattan?

Oh... oh man, I just ruined my pants.
    Go !@#$ yourself.

Is "Nancy boy" a term for homosexuals? I thought it was just like "sissy". I guess you could quibble about how appropriate it is, but I don't think it's explicitly homophobic. Maybe its origins are, but that doesn't mean Cho's usage is.

As for the rest of it... It's Frank Cho. He makes (a good part) of his living by drawing attractive, buxom women in a genre that is marketed predominantly to an adolescent (in mind if not in body) male audience. He's doing what he's paid to do; at least he's not hiding it behind lame justifications and excuses.

NOTHING! Except for Ms. Marvel having breasts roughly the size of Mexico. (And not dinky ass New Mexico.)

I just think if you are going to make one person look like she is hatching Ostrich eggs on her chest you should do the same for everyone. Particularly when you have a wanna be actor on your team.

Yeah, I agree with you. Good, bad, or indifferent, he's generally right. One of the prerequisites for being a female superhero is big boobs and a tiny waist. Men tend to be allowed to have more physical variety.

And I think people throw around the word 'homophobic' a little too easily.

The statement could be read as "I find it easy to draw attractive men, so I don't have to work as hard when drawing them".
The DC relaunch was successful and was executed in what was most likely the best way it could given restrictions we wouldn't know about. No, your idea wouldn't have worked. Now move on.
