    Default Some batman questions

I was at the comic shop recently and saw two batman titles, batman war crimes and hush returns, I was just wondering if these were worth looking at?

Also I'd like to know if the main Batman title and detective comics are at good point right now? I was thinking about getting into it, but I haven't really read any batman outside of frank miller's stuff, hush, death in the family and gotham county line.

Not sure about Hush Returns, but War Crimes was...controversial at best. Besides, to get the context of that, you'd have to at least get War Drums and the three War Games books too.

And Detective and Batman (Although I don't get it anymore) are in good spots at the moment. 'Tec has a 'done in one' policy, so you can pick it up any time, and Batman recently started a new arc I think.

    Hush Returns sucks hard.

War Crimes was a really pointless bookend to the War Games series. Also, as stated above, you'd have to read War Drums and War Games volumes 1-3 to get it.

Detective and Batman are pretty good at the nmo. I'd recomend them.

I recommend getting into the Batman title, maybe going back to 655 which is the start of Grant Morrison's run, who is the most controversial and best writers out right now, and its the start of his 15 part arc he is putting together. Right now its on a 2 part hiatus in between Morrison's run. 655-658 then you'll be got up and ready to wait for Morrison's next mini arc inside the 15 parter. The mini arc they got right now ostrander I would not recommend.

War Crimes was rather lame... the way Black Mask is captured and defeated was just stupid.

HUSH Returns is OK, at best...pretty much all it consists of is HUSH walking around looking for The Riddler and Riddler tries to get all of the villians to aide in hiding him. Not much of a story, to be honest. It does kind of somewhat but not really give light to where The Joker's "family" is. I wasnt too fond of how they previewed a continuation. I guess thats what they did...skipped around a lot after Hush kicks Joker's ass.

Speaking of Hush Returns...have they done another comic showing what takes place after Joker "goes home" ?
I mean, before War Crimes, of course
