Default Question about Dr.Doom and Thor *Spoilers*

Sorry if this seems as a noob question, as i only read The Ultimates and Ultimate Spider-man.

I was just surfing around wikipedia on some articles on ultimate marvel chars and happen to click on Ultimate Thor.

    I saw something very interesting

In Ultimate Fantastic Four #25, Ultimate Mr. Fantastic reveals he has created infant versions of Captain America, Iron Man, and even Thor. It is also revealed that Thor was believed to be the most powerful superhuman on the planet, until Namor demonstrates his own strength. Thor appeared in issue #27 at a party Johhny Storm hosted. When the Ultimate Fantastic Four went to the past and altered the event that gave them their powers in issues #27-29, an alternate Ultimate time-line (dubbed Super-Earth) was created, where Thor became President of the United States, and created a "power sharing" plan, using Skrull/Chitauri techonologies to give everyone on earth superpowers. When the Skrull attack the world, Ultimate Marvel Universe states that Thor has "natural powers" unrelated to the power sharing plan. Thor appears with the Ultimates in issue #32, and it is revealed that Doctor Doom is also more powerful than Thor.
The last line "Thor appears with the Ultimates in issue #32, and it is revealed that Doctor Doom is also more powerful than Thor."

Since i dont read UFF, can someone explain to me (if the info on wikipedia is true) why do they say Dr Doom is more powerfull.

Dont worry about spoilers i dont really care much.

During Millar's UFF run, Doom learned how to use Atlantean magic. During his last issue (32, I believe), a demon was excorcised from Johnny Storm, and was released into the physical realm where it immediately began searching for the most powerful host in the vicinity. It flew past Thor and planted itself inside Doom's body, showing that Doom is currently the most powerful (known) superhuman. That's the gist of it.

    Hint:

Mark Millar writes his favorite villains as being utterly, stupidly powerful.

No, literally Doom is more powerful than Thor.

As much as I enjoyed Millar's UFF, his Namor and Doom were both named the most powerful superhumans on earth when they were used in his run; he did go a little over the top with their powers.

    Default Yes but How?

Actually I was startled by the same thing.
How exactly can Doom be more powerful than Thor?
I always thought Doom was crappy, I guess I never read him well.
Doom can't fly, can't lift tanks, can't shoot anything, his robots/machines don't count since the demon thing flew to him not them.

What exactly can Doom do that makes him so powerful besides being smart (of which Reed Richards is smarter) and having hard skin (which Thing also does)

Ultimate Doom is a scientific genius, though unlike Richards he approaches science as an art rather than as a system.
Solid metal body. Internal organs as a poisonous gas and could grow and fling porcupine-like volleys of quills from his forearms. regenerative power. Proficiency in Atlantean magic. Vast superhuman strength.

I haven’t read that issue but here are some speculations on why the demon might go after Doom.

    1) Doom’s magic was familiar to the demon. Maybe it didn’t recognize Thor’s powers as anything special because it wasn’t familiar with that type of magic.

    2) Might also have something to do with Doom’s ancestry. A lot of magic stories like to link certain famous relatives with magic. You don’t get much better in this department than being related to Vlad Trepes.

it choose doom because it was a parasitic lifeform said to be heading straight for the most powerful being in the area, it was clearly stated. there's no way around it and could ultimate thor do that?:

Rather everyone else who's been underpowered. Ultimate Thor's depended on the magic belt his wearing. But even with the belt he's still vulnerable to fire.

    [Level 1 antagonism]
Homer: Ned Flanders, I mock your value system. You also appear foolish to the eyes of others.
Ned: Well howdy, Homer! Thanks for dropping by!
    [Level 2 antagonism]
Homer: Past instances in which I professed to like you, were fraudulent.
Ned: Oh well. I'll just have to try harder. Thanks for dropping by!
    [Maximum hostility factor]
Homer: I engaged in intercourse with your spouse or significant other. Now that's psychiatry!
