The sound's a bit choppy on that video. Looks good otherwise, although Voltron's transformation sequence seemed unimpressive..

Is it just me, or does it look like an American animtion studio did it, not a Japanese one?

not impressed. The animation's ok but nothing great. The music sucks. Lotor, Allura, and Keith losing their pupils looked stupid, and lonewolf23k is onto something with regards to the transformation.
My hopes are not high.

Oh Lord, hasn't that 3D piece of shit damaged the franchise enough?
The most bothersome thing about that is the lack of dynamic action shots during the fight scenes. Other than that, it was just dull and unoriginal from start to end.
How the hell can anybody screw up the pretty that was when Voltron forms the Blazing SwordThey got it right in the original, yet whatever studio might be handling this screws it up.

Unimpressive, but it can't be worse than that dreadful 3-D series. (Though I'll immediately fangirl it if Sven and Romelle show up.)
Any word on where this takes place in the overall mythos? The character designs and the robotic space mice seem based on the canceled Devil's Due comic series, and that was a "reinterpretation" of Voltron rather than a continuation.
EDIT: Apparently this is an old promo reel produced by WEP a few years back, not a preview of the new Voltron series in development.

That is not my Voltron for the love of god Keith does not even have a mullet and he did not say " Ready to form Voltron" or "Form Blazing Sword". But to be fair no one said anything.
Where is the respect for the classics.
That was doo-doo. It manages to do just about everything worse than the original.
"I think we can help. Mercedes is black; I'm gay. We make culture." - Kurt, Glee.
For starters:
*Bad, stiff CGI.
*The absolutely ridiculous "Reformed King Zarkon" plotline.
*That annoying robot.
*The unexplained absence of several important supporting characters. Where were Nanny, Sven, Romelle, and the space mice?
The only good thing about Voltron 3-D was Tim Curry as Lotor. But not even the talents of Dr. Frank-N-Furter could save it.
