Default Jack of One Trade (Paperback): Matt Sturges On “Jack Of Fables”

The best spin-off since “Frasier” or “Flavor Of Love,” we can’t decide, but “Jack Of Fables” co-writer Matt Sturges talks to CBR News about the prodigious Vertigo series and gives us a few hints of what’s yet to come. WARNING: May contain spoilers.

    Good interview.

But I thought I would mention that Jack of Fables #6 doesn't come out until the last week of December. You have it in the article that it's due this week.

Just read Jack #6. It's hilarious and Jack's at his horny trickster best (Jack Horner?) He eyes Alice (Sure she's ancient, but physically prepubescent, yes? Or not. I never imagined Goldilocks so sexy either, I guess), tries to sell soup stones, and tries to con his way into the ice queen's bed. And Sir Ian McKlellan interrupts to revise Jack's little tale.

If you haven't picked this up yet, do it now.

I thought the second one was funny, but the first one was unecessary. The switching castles=switching seasons was completely clear from the dialogue and didn't need two full pages of explanation.

I'll agree that the second one was a bit humorous. Kinda reminded me of that bit in Student Bodies when they did the MPAA segment.

I liked both of the interludes, I thought they were a hoot. Mind you, my favourite part of the issue was Vrumpus and Jack's "duel".

I'm finding Jack to be the funniest and funnest comic I'm getting these days.
I love Fables, but I'm beginning to think that Jack will end up being my most looked-forward to comic in 2007. I'm looking forward to seeing Matt Sturges' new comic as well.
