What was the last Green Goblin story?

Who wrote it? What comic was it in... and was it any good? Has he appeared since "Sins of the Past?" Or was his last appearance before it? I just read Sins of the Past and am moving onto "The Other" next. A lot of catching up to do before I start Civil War!

I think his last story was in Millar's run in Marvel Knights.

Personally, I thought it was garbage.

He's in CW:Frontline right now and will be part of the new (boring) Thunderbolts cast when Fabian leaves and takes most of the good characters with him.

I thought it was decent. The main problem was that it fell apart at the end. How cool would it have been if (a relatively clear minded) Doc Ock and the Green Goblin had vicious throw down at the top of the bridge?

Depends on your opinion. His last major appearance since Sins Past, besides The Pulse (which was hideously written unless you want to see Luke Freaking Cage beat down the Goblin) was indeed the "Marvel Knights: Spider-Man" first 12 issues. In a thread I ran a while back, it was generally cited as one of the best spidey stories in the last 10 years, and personally I adored it. But some hated it, so it's really yp to the individual. Definitely worth checking out though. (If for no other reason than that it contains the best Electro fight ever.)

The only one who benefited from this story was Electro. He was written as a genuine threat. Can't remember the last time that happened.

I'm kind of between yours and 666andahalf's takes on MK Spidey. I agree with the stuff that you listed as being crap aspects of the arc (and would include that stupid business about an elaborate conspiracy between the US government, Osborn, and the MU supervillains), but then note that all those happened towards the end of the arc. Like 666andahalf, I thought it started really strong (Osborn outed as the Goblin and thrown in jail, strong showings by Electro and Vulture, a new mystery villain), but went all to pieces in the end with the lame reveal of Osborn being said mystery villain, Gargan becoming Venom, the "Sinister Twelve" and their poor showing, the underwhelming Ock/Osborn confrontation, etc. Pity, since it had me all excited at the beginning that it was going to be really good.

It was still kind of disappointing because, ever since Norman’s half-assed resurrection, I’ve been waiting for Molten Man to do that to the Goblin.

That isn’t really saying much considering the huge drop in quality we’ve had ever since the reboot. We’ve had, what, Jenkins’ Peter Parker run and a couple minis (like the Human Torch one) and some of the better Webspinners, Tangled Web, and Unlimited stories to be happy about?

Honestly I thought the Millar MK story was average overall but that’s because the individual chapters were either exceptional or garbage with very little in between.

(If for no other reason than that it contains the best Electro fight ever.)

How soon people forget 1988’s Spectacular Spider-Man #134-136, 1993’s Spider-Man #38-40, and 1997’s Amazing Spider-Man #425.

I'd add a few things:

Black Cat wasn't active at the time of the story. Her transition from occasional hero/detective to freelancer wasn't explained. Plus, her bloodthirstiness seemed a bit out of character.

The Sinister Twelve is comprised of characters that wouldn't work together any other time. On top of that, Goblin lets them attempt the kill on Spidey instead of doing it himself.

Electro got a new costume and hasn't done anything with it since.
