    Default Friendly SM # 14 *** spoilers ***

As Before, if you have not read this book, don't read any more or you will get spoiled.

This issue, I consider to be a true CW tie-in. It has all the components.

It has Peter on the run after swapping to anti-reg
It has Punisher and Wolvy running crossing duty at Peters school (although it's not really them)
It has Beast slipping Peter a cloaking device to make him appear anybody he likes.
It has Vultures jailers offering a deal to catch Peter if Vulture agrees to his terms of release, and he does.

I really thought Wolvy and the Punisher appeared in this book, until I saw Peter pressing this device, and he changed from one, into the other, but it did reflect Peters new respect for Punisher, his rescuer. It also shows that Peter believes Wolvy is anti as well.

This new cloaking device also throws out possibilities as to who this Daredevil is, being arrested in CW 5.

Another thing this FSM 14 shows is the difference in operation when Peter was on the pro-side, and when he switched to the anti's. I noticed the feel of the book was less intense from 11 - 13, and also, that Iron Man never arranged a security cover for Peters school, which was strange.
Then, when Peter is on the anti-side, he has to arrange his own backup security squad. Why hasn't Shields capekillers surrounded the school and taken Spidey down? They know where he works. There is a fair chance Peter will turn up, and he did in this issue.

As a CW tie-in book, it will probably fit all the criteria, in that we'll probably never see the cloaking device, in the main CW book, like we haven't seen Zemo's key, from TBolts.

I particularly like the debate between Peter and his female colleague about school security after Peter is gone. It won't stop the villians attacking the school when Peter leaves.

I did not pick up that "Punisher" and "Wolvie" were really Spidey.

Also, yay! They printed my letter!

That was my favorite issue so far. Even more than battling Mysterios. Just a great read. If he keeps this up and stays away from the bad stuff, its gonna be a greta run.

Yea neither did I till I read this, then I went back and re-read it and can't believe that went over my head. A little Pulp fiction going on or something.

I would say thus far best issue of FNSM I have read. I didn't care for the Mysterio arc cause of the weird twist.

I would also say the art seems much better. I wanted to see more of Peter in his red and blues, but still worked out.

Also concerning the letter page and the mention to Marrow as Ms. Arrow: Does anyone remember the Marrow/SM one shot a couple years ago? I don't have my back issues, I remember them fighting then teaming up. Something along those lines. My memory isn't great though, read to many comics since then. I was just trying to figure out if it was Marrow what purpose would she have....

One last thing: The supporting cast in this book has been great.

I am a bit surprised since Wolverine was a bit more talkative than usual. When I first saw them clicking a device I thought it was a signaling device or they were going to set something off telling people not to mess with Midtown High.

I actually think that was Beast all along. Notice that he gives him the image inducer at the end and he uses mostly his leaping and acrobatic abilities (although he does crush the guns with ease as well).

Great issue, I was sort of hoping for Peter to get a new identity and boy is Ben Reilly as good an identity as any. It sucks Peter won't be teaching science again but it'll be interesting to see him work with Flash under the new guise.

I was comfortable that Wolvy was crushing the guns with ease, because he has adamantium bones. But now that you remind me it's Peter, I didn't realise he now crushes metal objects. I never thought it was Beast, because he stated the X-Men are neutral, so he can't take part. But that sucks, the X-Men not finding some reason to help out when they are asked.

Maybe Kitty Pryde could find the time to, you know, spend quality with Peter. Oh sorry MJ. I didn't know you were standing there!

Yeah, but Peter could've easily done the same things. I'm fairly sure the scene with him getting the inducer from Beast was a flashback, especially since it didn't come until much later in the issue.

There are a few trademark Beast moments both as "Wolverine" and "Punisher". Wolverine flips and hangs upside down, grabs their guns and breaks them.

Moments later while the gunman is running, Beast leaped ahead and used the image inducer as Punisher. He throws him around and leaps up high on the rooftop in another Beast'ish pose (while smiling) so I think Beast was looking out for Peter's school as he's the only X-Man who helped him out with that and the image inducer he hands him in the end.

Edit: Eh, nevermind. It does look like it's Peter in present time with the flashback being the Ms. Arrow parts and Beast handing him the image inducer.

I was surprised to see Beast in this. It seems to me that he's becoming the go to science guy for Marvel now. It's great to see.
