Default Is Morrison still going to be writing Batman?

I thought he was but I read something that made it sound like he only did those son of batman issues and someone else is taking over. That right?

I never was a big batman but I really did like how he did son of batman.

And am I the only ones who see's that pic of him in the back of wizard under the hot writers of the month and think that pic is of Yul Brynner?

John Ostrander is going to write a few fill in issues, but after that, Morrison will be back with a Joker story.

Somewhere in the back of my head, I seem to recall an interview (probably in Wizard) where he said he had something like 20-25 issues already plotted out.

I remember reading this too (Newsarama?). Morrison and a Joker Arc sounds good.

I'm...not actually looking forward to more Morrison on Batman. Between him and Dini we may never get another Batman comic that acknowledges what else is going on in the DCU right now.

Not that I'm complaining about Dini, though. His stories are awesome.

If I had things my way, Dini would write a two-part story each month. Part 1 would be published in Batman and part 2 would be published in Detective.

That way, Dini could still write relatively self-contained stories without having to cram everything into a mere 20 pages (which frequently doesn't seem to work).

Of course, this will never happen because my ideas are never popular.

I like Morrison's Batman, I think he nailed the relationship between Bruce and Alfred just right, and I'd like to see his take on a few of the classic Bat-bad guys. A Morrison Penguin, Riddler, or Scarecrow could be just what I've been looking for. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but I'm really enjoying Morrison's superhero work at the moment. I LOVE All-Star Superman, and I'm more than hopeful that he's going to give us a very fine Batman, indeed. And, hey, how could ninja Man-bats NOT be a winner. . ?

This has never been an issue before... why is it now?

In JLA Batman fought the huge Starro-space alien-type bad guys and that was never referenced in his more street level main titles.

Perhaps you could clarify what you mean.

Just as a side note, the Morrison/Kubert Batman is still blowing the Lee/Miller team up out of the water...

Actually, I'm not so much disappointed by the lack of entire DCU interaction as a lack of coherence or exchange between the actual Bat-titles themselves. We only get a Batman/Nightwing or Batman/Catwoman interaction, what, a couple times a year? These are Batman characters for crying out loud! Dick Grayson used to be in virtually every Batman comic!

I know they took the crossovers a little to extremes in the years before Infinite Crisis, but now I feel like they're intentionally avoiding it completely. Can't there be a middle ground?

I prefer it that way. There have been too many characters crowding Batman's books for the last 5-10 years. Personally I prefer Batman to be a part of Dick Grayson's life that is mostly over. He can pop back once in a blue moon, but for the most part keep to himself

Apparently, the Ostrander/Mandrake story wasn't starting for a few more months, but that was changed (prolly 'cause Andy needs more time to do the art for his stories); now O&M, which is twice a month I think, starts next month and goes for 4 issues until Grant & Andy return in Jan or Feb.

I don't know if I want Batman talking about his latest escapades with Nightwing or the League...

But Catwoman has had a baby and Batgirl has gone rogue.

It would be nice to see some reactions to that in his books. You know, to the fact that he's been hurt by people he loves.

As much as I'm enjoying the Morrison/Kubert run, I can't wait to see the Ostrander/Mandrake issues.

I'm up for more Morrison on Batman.
Even if I wasnt too impressed with the recent, "Son of Batman" story arc.
However, a Morrison Joker story does peak my interest, so no worries.
