Thread: Negation War

    Default Negation War

Is there any hope of the Negation War being completed by whoever bought the rights to the Crossgen material (Disney, is that right?) ? How much of it was completed when the plug was pulled? Is it possible to get a synopsis of what would have happened?

I'm afraid the answer is probably no. I can't imagine whoever owns that stuff wanting to pick up in mid-story and finish an event that another publoisher started years before.

I think we got two installments penciled and three written. This will just have to go down as one of those might-have-beens...

If Tony does not mind I think i can add a little to his answer ( I remember this from an old post )
In issue 3 ( that never saw light of day ) most of the Law Bringers & First were killed, I also believe Sam & Evenlea also died.
Appolon blows up his soul bomb ( that he was developing in R666, and reverts Danik & Charon back to their Human and Atlantean forms. Kane than beats them senseless with a toilet seat. I believe Kane than leaves them to Komptin's mercy ( as well as gives him Chomper ). In the after math he was going to have Appolon become the new big bad, and we would see more of the Fugitives still in negation space ( this would have been done in a continued Negation )

I count not seeing this series end as my single biggest dissapointment in all my years of reading Comics

ps.. Tony, please correct me if anything I said was wrong, it was done all from memory.

    Naw, that all sounded right.

But I still think that the premature end was a mixed blessing. Now it will always be a tantalizing might-have-been. Sort of like James Dean dying before we could watch him grow old and fat and possibly become a has-been.

The one I really regret not finishing was KISS KISS BANG BANG. Final issue drawn, inked and lettered, yet never printed. Arrrgh!!!

It sure would be nice to get a black and white, photocopied Kancelled KrossGen Kavalcade.

I don't want my name on any comic whose initials are KKK!

I just recently read Negation for the first time. Only took me one or two sittings. I just wanted to say it was totally amazing. It made me wish I could have been more than the fledgling comic reader I was in 2003 so that I could have read it as it came out and supported the whole thing. Excellent, excellent stuff, Tony. Thank you.

I loved everthing Crossgen did, insofar as their products went, but Negation was the cream of crop. Month in and month out that book was pure magic.

Thanks, guys. NEGATION was a real team effort. Everyone involved contributed great story ideas and it truly ended up being greater than the sum of its parts. That's rare, and hard to recapture. I only hope I have another experience like it. That's difficult, though, because I don't work under the same roof as my collaborators any more. :(

I know it ended badly but Crossgen was truly a noble wonderful experiment. I wish to god that things went differently because the entire line was pure magic. I even loved Meridian which was a guilty pleasure due to the fact that I was a male in my early twenties at the time. Kudos to all of you for doing such a fantastic job.

Add me to the list of those who misses Crossgen badly.

Issue in, issue out we got great writing and great art in the same issue. Thats so rare to get both at the same time.
