I totally called both Jester and Jack O' Lantern.

Not that anyone DIDN'T think they were toast, mind you.

Now that is a reintroduction of the Punisher to the Marvel U!

Has the Jester shown up in any recent Marvel books? Reminds me too much of the Flash villain...what's his name...Johns introduced a new version in his run with Scott Kolins...

That sounds right. What a terrible Johns/Kolins Flash fanboy I have devolved into - can't remember much of the run after reading the wretched post-IC reboot issues.

Loved it! The Turner cover makes it seem like the Punisher is "gunning" for Spidey, when in fact he saves his arachnobutt. I did not see that coming.

I liked how Pete was all drugged up and talking goofy. The Gwen broken neck comment was kind of creepy. It was cool how the Punsher's skull was all distorted and we don't "learn" that it was the Punisher until he shows up with Spider-Man. :D

Does anyone have any guesses why the Negative Zone prison is called "42"?

Will the silver coin Daredevil gave Tony have any significance?

Why 42? Because it's the answer to the question of life, the universe, and everything.

    Ask Google.

I'm beyond tired of this flacid series. At the beggining I picked up Spider-man or Iron man occasingly. I even regularly read New Avengers every month. Now, I'm not going to read any of titles, especially the first one.

Who was the jester supposed to be?

    Welcome back johnny!

I think that the Punisher surprise would've been cooler if Marvel hadn't leaked the Turner cover for this issue. I'll have to admit that the Keown homage full page splash was the best that good ol' Frank Castle has looked since the JRJR Punisher War Zone days.

I'm also wondering if the silver coin doesn't play some role in the take down of the Negative Zone prison. Also, was that Matt Murdock as Daredevil or someone else?

Finally, did anyone else notice the Wanted pictures of Millar, McNiven, Vines and Hollowell in the Cap HQ when all the heroes were meeting at the end? I love little Easter Eggs like that!

I had a big old stinkin' Civil War night, read 1-4, ASM 534 and 535, Civil War 5, and then New Avengers 25. I think 5 is the weakest issue of the series so far, but it was a big chess issue, setting up the last two issues. It still looked great, and I must not of seen the Turner image or just forgot it, because I was suprised by the Punisher's appearance, so that was cool. Someone on the ifanboy board made a good joke that it would have been nice to see the actual battle that's on the cover. Was the Jester even on the cover? That was a little dissapointing. I'll have to look back, but I think that coin will come back, because I'm pretty sure Daredevil is holding it either in the Hideout in issue 2 or the diner in issue 3. I'm know I'd seen him with it before.

Speculation: Is it possible that it is Matt getting sent to 42, what with his recent prison break expertise? Or did Matt give Danny some advice on prison life before taking his European vacation? If Tigra is a double agent from Tony's side, is it possible that Stature or Nighthawk are double agents from Cap's side?
