Yeah, it's a giddy good read, this issue. And I do think it might be the best art from McNiven thus far, just in that he gets to draw so many cool characters.

AAaaaarrrgghhh - just read the review. Even with it being spoiler free (which is how I like it), tomorrow can't come soon enough! Do I need to have been reading Amazing Spider-man to follow what is going on? Should I bother picking up the last few issues, or will I be okay without it?

You don't NEED to read AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. There's a couple of lines of dialogue that neatly sum up how Spider-Man got to the point he's at in the beginning of the issue.
That said -- I think it does flesh out the story an awful lot.

Trip - Yes, I did. But I get weekly shipping so I don't have to wait long. I probablly wouldn't hit my comic shop today anyhow, because I was just there on Friday and it's in Boston (near Fenway Park) and I'm in Waltham which is 20-25 minutes away. Yeah, I've gotten things as fast as on the THURSDAY after they arrived on Wed! How, I have no idea. Once I forgot to check off the "Weekly Shipping" box and nearly had a convulsion waiting so long. But it was cool getting a GIANT box at the end of the month.
