Question Simon & Kirby Young Romance Question

I was just wondering if any of the Simon & Kirby Young Romance stories that were published by Crestwood have ever been reprinted?

I know DC took over the title in 1963 and continued the numbering(or were the numbers from some other DC title?).

I was just wondering if DC got the artwork to the Crestwood S&K stories.

If they do, it would make a good Showcase edition.

In the early 70s, Joe Simon edited some DC love titles. Did he reprint any of the S&K stuff?

The really quick answer is: I haven't seen any S&K reprints in the DC books, and I believe that most of their reprints in the 70s came from 60s stories.

That doesn't mean that it never happen, as I haven't seen all that many. The numbering continued from the Crestwood series - same with Young Love, I think.

DC did publish a reprint of Young Romance #1 as part of their "Millennium" series, so perhaps they have the art.

I agree - that would make a nice book.

    Exclamation

At least (?) fifteen years ago, Eclipse published a trade paperback anthology reprinting many stories from Simon and Kirby's YOUNG ROMANCE; it was edited by Richard Howell. Try searching Ebay for it; it can't be that tough to find at a reasonable price.

    Aloha,

    Scott!

P.S.: I wouldn't be at all surprised if a series of YOUNG ROMANCE reprints materialize in the near future from a very unexpected source. -- SS!

Absolutely vital book, and IIRR it was nearer twenty years ago.

    I certainly hope so!

Additional squib: DC's Black Magic reprint series at the time Joe Simon was a DC editor in the Bronze Age contained some Crestwood/Prize material, but I think that the love books were all original material, with the 100-pagers reprinting, as observed supra, material from the swingin' 'sixties.
