Adam Brody? Interesting. Definitely could help sales, but is he legitimately writing for this series?

Billson & DeMeo talk RED MENACE on the latest wordballoon.com podcast
Writers Danny Billson and Paul Demeo are back to discuss RED MENACE , the new WILDSTORM mini series about a 1950's superhero who unmasks for the anti communist US senate committee, led by Joe McCarthy. The book is co-authored by actor Adam Brody, who plays Seth Cohen on FOX TV's THE OC, and art is provided by the great Jerry Ordway. Billson & Demeo also discuss their run on the DC comic THE FLASH,and the chorus of internet complaints about the shift from Wally West to Bart Allen as the scarlet speedster.
Hey I love your show, and hearing you on the around comics round table is always a treat.
I hope you spoke about them leaving the title too.
Church: So it is a sword, It just happens to function like a key in very specific situations.
Caboose: Or it's a key all the time, and when you stick it in people, it unlocks their death.

'Thanks for the kind words about wordballoon & you know I love the AC guys too.Originally Posted by SKETCHSANCHEZ

I picked Red Menace up on the strength of the concept alone and with an idea of what to expect I wasn't let down. Having a superhero unmasked and then terrorised by Senator Mccarthey is a great idea and its beautifully realised here with a steadily paced and quite gripping tale that is revealing its tricks just slowly enough to leave you wanting more.
In the wake of Clooney's extraordinary Good Night and good Luck, its difficult to say whether this series is going to have the chops to really compete on an intellectual level; is there genuinely anything more to say about Mccarthey right now? Is there anything left to say about the political status of the superhero? I'm not sure - but at worst this one'll be well worth the read for its short 6 issue run. Its different, engaging, and fun. I'm really looking forward to issue #2

That well sums it for me, too. I also picked it up on the strength of the premise, and, so far, haven't been disappointed.
Thanks for another slant on the whole capes and costumes...and politics...scene.

I picked it up this weekend and I really enjoyed it. Jerry Ordway's art was as good as ever. I also am looking forward to issue #2.
I really liked the first issue as well. Definitely getting the rest of this series.
I actually like it a lot. I picked it up out of the blue and realized it had Brody in it.
Must be weird for Brody to be working with the father of his ex-girlfriend and co-star who still plays his girlfriend.
Well, after two issues, this is pretty standard stuff.
It is funny when the people the Eagle is trying to save tell him to piss off, pinko.
A guest appearance by Burt Lancaster?
The art is still stunning.
