    Default Time Traveling Superhero

I've been working on my own comic book character called Time-Rider. I've had story ideas for superheroes banging around my head for years, but never did anything about it. Well, thanks to the latest computer image software like adobe and poser I've been able to try to bring one of my ideas to life, Time-Rider http://superherouniverse.com/timerider/ . To be honest my first couple of tries at creating a comic book story weren't exactly groundbreaking, but practice makes perfect or at least makes it better.

So here's a couple of pages from my next issue I'm working on that I've submitted to a couple of comic book companies. If nothing happens I'll just post the whole story online on my site, but hopefully something will happen.

I just want to remind you make sure, at all times, to be sure your grammar is correct. I notice a few errors (such as you not using commas around God in mid-sentence) that you probably need to fix.

That said, I wouldn't buy, but people seem to like time travel stories. I can't tell from that snippet if it's good or not.

I'm using adobe for the backgrounds and poser for the people. Takes me a good while per page. I have a lot of story ideas. I just need more time. It would be nice to have a comic book publisher pick up my character. It would be great to be able to spend a whole day on my story.

I know I still have a few issues to deal with, but if you saw my first couple of attempts at making a comic book, you'd all be shocked. It was really rough going. The more you do it, the easier it is. Although, the more I work on this the more time it takes. I keep realizing more and more things that need done.

Here's my last page although I'm not quite satisfied with it yet.

If I could just get a chance to get my stories out there in comic book form I would be happy. I suppose competition is really fierce nowadays, but I figure I might as well try.

    Default What's most important

So guys what do you think is the most important aspect of a comic character or story that gets it accepted by a comic book publisher? How much weight does appearance carry?

Whether you are pitching for writing or art, appearance matters -- the presentation itself needs to be serious and professional.

Have you looked at sample pitches to get a sense of how to organize it?

    Default Sample pitches

I've tried to follow the submission guidelines as closely as possible. I'm not sure where I might find examples of actual samples. I've got my first rejection, but it was for something I did a while back. It was this Time-Rider story http://superherouniverse.com/timerid...ssue/cover.htm

I think I've made some improvements since then. Maybe my latest submission will do the trick.

I was playing around and came up with a new design for an earlier character I come up, a bad guy Nazi dude named Basitan Wolfe. Here's that pic.

I'm still working on the story I first posted here with the newer Time-Rider.

I kind of thinking people may want the standardized superhero with the dark and gritty look. A character who goes out in the dark of night, and beats the crap out of bad guys like Batman or whatever, but I really like more of the sci-fi elements of comic book storytelling. I don't know, maybe time travel isn't all that popular as I thought it might be. It's always interested me. The possibilities are endless, and you could always come up with a story. Once you establish a character's history, you can really play around with it like Marvel's What If stories.

I'll take any ideas or suggestions I can get.

Here's the vehicle for Time-Rider. Batman's got the batmobile. Why not a 57Chevy?
