Amazing Spider-Girl #2 Review

I really am enjoying this new title. It really has a 60's and 90's feel to it. It's a nice, simple, fun and enjoyable read. Tom DeFalco's writing is still as brilliant as ever and Ron Frenz's artwork's always top notch. I'm very happy that the Hobgoblin's back and that they've set him up as the main bad guy for the series. Best of all my letter was printed in this issue. It's the first one you read after Tom's short message to us fellow readers.

I am liking the re-start more over than the first mini-book thing that I got (#1). I think it partly has alot to do with not having to go through the mandatory intro storyline and I think the art comes off a shade better in full size format.

I just got my monthly comic titles from UPS today. I got two copies of issue #1, and one copy of issue #2. I have to say I have always loved Spidergirl, and I still do. I just question that if they are trying to get new people to give it a chance and they have such awsome covers, I think it's a mistake not to have her in costume for the first 1 and 1/2 book. I know this was a completely run on sentance but oh well.

Don't Worry, the re-launch has been quite a success so far. Last months sales have recently been put up and they show healthy profits. Amazing Spider-Girl #0 has sold over 43,000 copies and Amazing Spider-Girl #1 has sold over 75,000 copies placing it in the top 35. It's also the most amount of copies I've ever seen sold for a Spider-Girl title. The old series was always selling around 20,000 copies.

I've never read about the character of Spider-girl, but I felt like picking up the title. I was very surprised. A very good, and fun read. I really enjoyed the issue. I like the role Hobgoblin is playing, and the Reverb guy was actually kinda cool. I wouldn't mind seeing him again. I'll diffently get the next issue. And congrats, Venom, on your letter in this issue.

I refuse to touch anything spider-girl related. Maybe if it was peter and MJs kidnapped baby from the regualr universe that would be cool...but not this. She appeals to me about as much as she-hulk...i.e a lame imatation of the original...sorry but thats the way i feel.

I picked this up a couple of days ago and it was a very enjoyable read. Reminded me of old school teenage Peter Parker and his issues in school and how he had to revise everything to keep his secret life afloat to coincide with his everyday affairs. May Parker RULES.

I had never bought an issue of Spider-Girl's first series before buying Amazing Spider-Girl #1. But since then, I've picked up #2 and a few issues from the first series. It's now on my (very short) pull list.

I like the old school feel to the series. And I like the hopefulness: Peter and MJ have a successful relationship after all these years (at least from the issues I've read) rather than having them end up dysfunctional or divorced or whatever.

But May is Peter and MJ's kidnapped daughter. It was revealed that she was later returned by Kaine. What do you mean?

Is it because it takes place in a parallel universe? Because it is implyed throughout the series that it is a possible future for the 616.

Actually, that was implied only at the start. Since then, a couple of 616 events have been referenced that, in 982, went down differently. The Gathering of Five comes to mind.

I don't know if anyone's noticed this yet. In this issue Ron Frenz changed Spider-Girl's eyes to look much smaller and now she looks a lot like Steve Dikto's version of Spider-Man. Maybe they're trying to make it even more old school by making this move.

I personally like the sound of that, even if it's just to see how it works out, it's a nice idea, and it's a nice artistic homage to classic Spidey, so YAY!:D

I loved this issue, especially Hobgoblin's goons arguing about who got to wear the armor.
