    Default Superman 657 question.

Im not much of a superman reader. But I remember reading awhile back about a 2 (maybe 3) issue story in superman that sounded kind of cool.

Was the new 657 the start of a new mini arc or was it a contiunuation of a storyline?

    Thanks.

It's part 4 of the Camelot Falls arc. It's the first arc by the new creative team of Busiek and Pacheco.

Er, no, it's not. It's the last issue of the first part -- DC decided to collect it in two volumes.

I tend to think it's safe to read it any time; it's written to be read in instalments. Failing that, the whole epic shebang will end in #665, though #659 is a one-off story and #660 is another one-off story that has a framing sequence that connects with the main story.

    Confused you even more, hm?

I'm enjoying your take on Superman and hope you and Carlos are onboard for a while.

Kurt it was another wonderful issue. No clark in this one but what they heck the book is titled superman after all. I loved luthor's speech to toy man and Black Adam's to that villian guy. seems like not to long ago lex and toyman were a team in up up and away and now they are at odds.

Pacheco did a wonderful job as well. Kurt do please let him know how much i love his work. and invite him on to the bored as well.

finally could you give me any news on the rumors that Smallvilles Chloe Sullivan will be joining DC continuity. I don't want to know when I just want to know if. someone said that dc bought the rights and u were planning on introducing her. please say its true. ttyl

Wow, the art in this issue was fantastic. It made the story. The shot of Metropolis cracked in half was incredible, and the last three pages were unbelievable. Carlos has really outdone himself. I can't wait to see more of his post-apocalyptic Metropolis.

And Kurt, very interesting direction to take the book. I'll admit, I was a little upset we didn't get to see a follow-up with Subjekt-17, but the fastforward/possible future storyline is very interesting. Nice line-up, too. Lex and Parasite defending the city in Superman's absence. This Sirocco character, though, obviously named after the desert wind; is he new, or did I just miss his previous appearance? Either way, awesome character, and the way Lois describes his arrival in her journals: "Even in this cold, the breeze he kicked up was hot and dry, and smelled faitly of tamarind." Nice stuff!
    Go !@#$ yourself.

Every week I read "The Buy Pile", and every week I am more and more confused about what exactly Hannibal is looking for in a comic. Oh well.

This was spectacularly good. The art was amazing, but the real excitement came in the story and characterization. I mean, COME ON! The Old Man of the Mountain, Khyber, throwing Superman through the Earth's crust, ensuing chaos and destruction, Lois, Jimmy, and Luthor working together to maintain civilization, Sirocco, Superman exploding from inside the Earth, the whole thing ... I mean, if this isn't what a comic should be, then I have no idea what is.

    And, oh, Eye-Patch Diana/Donna is bad-ass.

The pain and sadness in Parasite was touching and moving. I just can't wait to see how this turns out.

Absolutely amazing work all around by everyone.

Up Up and Away's portrayal of Lex as a raving lunatic hanging out in a sewer with the C-list likes of Toyman and Prankster & trying to destroy Metropolis made me drop the Supes books like a rock, but I picked this up out of curiosity on the "one more chance" philosophy and was very glad I did. I'll have to go back and pick up the preceding issues, as well. On-target characterization of the "see themselves as the noble heroes" likes of Lex and Adam, great art by Pacheco, and a compelling and entertaining story from Kurt (I loves me some post-apocalyptic futures where villains and heroes must band together to survive!). Kudos on a great Superman story, Kurt; I am now hooked.
