Default How is friendly neighborhood spider-man?

I've been thinking of adding one spidey title to my pull list, I love PAD and Ringo drawing spider-man again has got me leaning towards this title but I dont want to get caught up in all the civil war hoopla honestly. ( i just read the main book and am happy with that)

How is the title overall? Could I read this and not worry about the other spidey titles? Can I just jump in with the newst issue and be cool? I did that with X-factor (jumped on with 12 i think) and it's been gravey from there.

Other then the unmasking its not tied up much in Civil War. It has a very old school feel to it, theres alot of superhero stuff, theres a supporting cast, the arcs aren't too long and its alot of fun.

It's really good IMO, I love it. Then next issue is the start of a new arc so it'd be easy to jump on with it that respects. Theres a few ongoing subplots but I'm sure you'd get caught up with them in the book when you need too.

the last three books, it wasn't him drawing. Only the covers. And in one of the fan letters in FNSM someone wrotes that it is a pity that ringo is leaving. That's what i know.

It was announced in a letter's page that Ringo left the series at the end of the time-travel arc (issue #10, i think), with the covers to the Mysterio story as his last contribution to the series.

In a way Mike Wieringo hasn't fully left Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man as he announced on his website quite recently that he's going to do a few more front covers starting with #17.
From now on we're poison to you Spider-Man. That's why we call ourselves... VENOM!!!

It is currently my favorite Spidey title. And that's saying something based on how I love Amazing and Sensational also.

I highly recomend FNSM, the arcs bring out the fun in Spiderman. There not just kiddy fun arcs either, there good stories that we will probably see later on in FNSM.(ben arc left us hanging and mysterio arc)
