    Default A "Bizarro" Question

A thought ocurred to me today and I was hoping someone might be able to answer this.

Seeing as how Bizarro is Superman's polar opposite, I can understand the heat breath, freeze vision, and the fact that he's a villain rather than a hero. But If the sun acts as Superman's source of energy, would it not then act as a DE-energizer for Bizarro?

Likewise, would Kryptonite not boost Bizarro's power rather than weaken him like it does Superman?

Is there any proof of this Pre or Post Crisis? Maybe I'm looking into this way too much but I find this very perplexing.

Bizarro is a backwards Superman, not necessary his opposite.

That said, I don't know where his power comes from, in regards to the solar question.

The Kryptonite item can be explained by simply saying that it affects Superman and, therefore, doesn't affect Bizarro.

Do you think it would help Bizz as a character if he were Supes' opposite? My belief is that it would (in some respects). Of course, if that was the case, Then he'd have to be called "Namrepus" and were his undies on his head!:D

No, because I've designed a character for that purpose. :D

My idea for a "reverse Superman" isn't actually drawn yet, though I have designed his symbol. I have determined certain attributes of the character and what the storyline would be, too.

But I this thread isn't about my ideas. It's about answering your questions. Anyone know where Bizarro gets his power?

Well, the last time we saw Bizarro, he was created by magic. And Blue Kryptonite made him a 12th level intellect (read: super-genius).

So I'm inclined to say that he's empowered by magic and Kryptonite by the void of space, of which there is far more of than sunlight.

Hence why (as Superman has noted) Bizarro is stronger than he is.

No undies on the head, but in Alan Moore's run on "Supreme", the Bizarro-like character was named Emerpus.

As for Bizarro, maybe he's powered by moonlight.

    Seinfeld explains it the best:

    JERRY

Yeah. Like Bizarro Superman. Superman's exact opposite, who lives in the backwards bizarro world. Up is Down. Down is Up. He says "Hello" when he leaves, "Good bye" when he arrives.

    ELAINE

[pause] Shouldn't he say "Bad bye"? Isn't that the, opposite of "Good bye"?

    JERRY

    No. It's still a goodbye.

    ELAINE

    Uh. Does he live underwater?

    JERRY

    No.

    ELAINE

    Is he black..

    JERRY

Look. Just, forget it, {already}. All right?

Y'know, that's actually what got me asking this question in the first place. Heheh, leave it to Seinfeld to bring up "Superman-ical philosophy":)
