Default URSA MINORS #3: It's ALL Treat, Baby

    Halloween? Bah, Humbug!

I mean, sure it's great if you like being scared with the chainsaw massacres, the witch burnings and the SAW that all the kids like these days. Yeah, you can spend tonight bobbing for apples and coming up with razorblades in the gums and ogling Mrs. Feldman next door wearing her naughty nurse costume nigh on forty years now. Yeah, you can be scared, but horror's easy. Comedy is hard.

Tomorrow (some folks are reporting it's out next Wednesday, but SLG tells me tomorrow) get your post-witching hour laughs by riding your broomstick (oh, that just sounds dirty) to your good hearted local comic book provider and picking up the third issue of URSA MINORS! by Kleid, Cote and Pinto, the Weird Sisters of Slave Labor Graphics, for the scarily low price of Two Dollars and Ninety Five Cents.

Las Vegas Weekly called URSA MINORS! "an idea for a comic book that's so awesome, it's hard to believe nobody thought of it before", and Warren (FELL, TRANSMETROPLITAN) Ellis said "Its actually a clever piece of darkly comic science fiction... Take a look. And its published by Slave Labor, so you get goth points, too." The third issue of URSA MINORS! takes the ursine avengers to Jolly Olde England where they fight evil wizards fraternities, attend the funeral of Britain's most feared writer of Comic Books and Erotic Fiction as we send up Harry Potter, Animal House, From Hell, Warren Ellis and more. Plus, Explodey- the Clown that Explodes!

    That cover is:

"Harry Woodworth and the Double Secret Probation Prophecy"
The the boys travel to jolly England to pay their respects to Richard's late uncle. But when Harry is revealed to be the last descendant of an ancient wizarding fraternity that's been mocked and derided for ages, the Bears use their science and might to teach Harry's clan how to party and beat their enemies most notably, the diabolical Alpha Omagius!

So, apparently the helpful folks were right - URSA MINORS! #3 ships next week, November 8th. That gives you seven more days to prepare and take measures.

I, however, am swamped with graphic design deadlines.

    Later!
