Halo 1 bored me to tears to the point I put it away some wehere around 2/3s of the way through. Halo 2 was basically an improvement in every conceivable way.

^^ I would hesitate to agree with you there, although you are correct HALO 1 by yourself was boring and the levels seemed to drag on forever, Co-Op ? was a totally differant story all together it was intense! and easily the best MP experiance I had on Xbox.

Halo 2 does have alot more things to do, with the duel wield, the vehicals, the weapons and you can see your legs, but its missing something compared to Halo CE. I prefer Halo CE to Halo 2

Halo campaign must be an aquired taste, because I can (and have) played the game through completley in one sitting multiple times. It is so immersive that I can actually belive I am the MC. Few games can do that to me.

Halo 2 had a great Campaign also...but it seemed to be much more scripted than the original. The inclusion of the Arbiter and the dumbing down of the Elites added with the fact that the aliens spoke English, just seemed to take you out of the experience.

In the original, you had no freaking idea why these aliens were relentlessly trying to kill you. They yelled at you in an alien language and moved like animals (unlike the human-like Halo 2 Elites). It put you into the game, and the game was about survival.

    I love them both.

I didnt really like the Arbitar levels, It kept changing from MC to Arb and I just couldnt get into either version of the story.

I agree. Although I applaud Bungie for taking the series in a new direction, and I also love the Arbiter, I would just prefer to focus on the Chief and is experiences.

If anything, an entirely new series could have been devoted to the Arbiter. Or he could have been included into the story, just more mysterious, and not as a playable character.

Halo 2 only left a bad taste in my mouth because of the fact that a lot of focus was put into the Covenant's perspective. I was hoping that once their home planet/ Base of operations was seen, it would be a crazy experience with all sorts of unknown enemies speaking in languages you can't understand standing their final ground as Earth makes a desperate last ditch effort to turn the tide of the war...with the MC's help of course.

My, am I full of words today.

    Campaign - Halo 1
    Multiplayer - Halo 2

Overall - I'm still playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live, so H2.

Halo 1, but I've only played MP on both. It's mostly just personal preference, but pussified pistols in Halo 2 hurt MP a lot for me.
