    Default Ultimate FF #7 Question

Hi, this is really out of date considering when the issue came out, but I've just started reading Ultimate Fantastic Four and I noticed in issue #7, during their flashback to the explosion, Reed, Sue, Ben, Johnny and Victor are all shown in there transformed state. But for some reason, below them what I believe is Man-Thing is shown, with I think the remnants of a lab coat on him. So my question is, 1, is Doctor Storm or one of the other doctor's turning into Man-Thing, and 2, if not, does anyone have any idea why Man-Thing would just randomly appear there? Thanks for any help, this has been bugging the hell out of me for days.

Huh? I don't remember that.... But I believe that Man-Thing in normal continuity is the Guardian of the Nexus of All Realities (or something to that effect). So I could imagine that he might just be there in the Ultimate Universe, as the whole N-Zone thing is in line with that principle. And he's not Doctor Storm.

Actually it was just a mistake of the artist, the script probably said "Ben changes man-thing" meaning he was changing from man to thing. Yet the artist must have thought of Man-thing. At least that's what i think that happened.

When I saw it, I thought it was simply the artist being cute, throwing in a character just for fun. Like Simonsons putting some characters in the crowd during the Orion/Darkseid fight.

That's what I thought. That, or I thought it be that one of the "possibilities" for one of them was Man Thing, so someone came close to getting those powers.

This sounds like the most plausible explanation, though I wasn't aware of it. What an obscure reference! If Immonen is responsible, it makes me glad he's going to be the new guy on Ultimate Spider-Man, as it seems like he'd be a fun guy.

In ultimate marvel some random science guy was transformed into manthing the same way the F-4 and Doom were. It says in his profile I think I read it at marvel.com. He shows up in Ultimate marvel team-up later on. - Dark Joe
