Default Which Ultimate X will die in the Cable arc?

Who do you think, and why. And of course, there's the obligatory "other - please specify" option.

From what I've seen so far, I think it's going to be Rogue. Honestly, that just comes out of a process-of-elimination. I can't see them getting rid of anyone else, unless it's Angel - but he hasn't had much screentime, and he's "out of the picture" currently, so I wouldn't care much about him buying it.

(Other options that would not fit in the pole include, but are not limited to: Emma, Canonball, Sunspot, Polaris, Havok, Angel, Xavier, Cable, Psylocke, Magician, etc.)

I've got a great idea. How about we keep blaming the other party. Yeah. That's healthy.

It's going to be Professor X, Nightcrawler (Kirkman doesn't know what to do with him, will die like a hero) or Jean (to become Phoenix).

Either way, it's going to be stupid and badly-done, like Kirkman's run has been so far.

This is my sentiment. He'll do something redeeming, having a saving grace. Unfortunately that something will get him killed. That might be the goal of him redeeming himself at the time. Whichever. It just seems to me that he's been set up to die.

Nightcrawler's been pretty much ruined as a character, so I'm going to go ahead and say him.

Well, that's the only thing that we can be certain about... And that is pretty sad, actually.

I'm guessing it's either Nightcrawler for the reasons you have already stated or Jean Grey, because if Brian Singer's arc ever gets done I suppose he's gonna do some sort of his version of X3 and they'll need Jean to be dead... I dunno, I will probably be irritated by it, whoever bites it. Kirkman is sinking this title soo badly....

Nightcrawler does seem like the most likely in an a typical redemption story but I’m hoping that Kirkman actually has something planed for an evil Nightcrawler. If he kills him off without doing more with the character will mean that everything he did with the character was a waste. Then again his run so far has been a waste. I was expecting better from him.

Rouge seems to be getting a lot of degrading and is another character that seems to have no real idea of how to write her than using the same old. If the death is meant to be permanent she is the one I’m banking on.

Professor X would be a gusty move. Considering that Cable is after him for some reason or another it would be interesting if he was the one to get killed.

Wolverine or Jean will be killed if the death is meant to be temporary. Jean’s death would lead into a Phoenix/Dark Phoenix story arc where Wolverine will just regenerate later.

Surprised no one has mentioned Cyclops. Perhaps this whole Phoenix thing finally reaches its boiling point and she goes nuts and kills him like she did in the movie?

I doubt it would be Nightcrawler because without him the X-men don't have anyone who is freaky looking. And the other blue-furred member has already been offed, so I don't think they'd kill Crawler too.

Another possibility might be Colossus, but they just officially outed him, so I doubt they'd kill him off so quickly after doing so.

I really hope it's not Jean, just because she's currently dead in the 616. So I think they should keep her alive in this Universe.

I'm going with Cyclops for a couple of reasons. First, he's on the cover (I know that doesn't really mean much). Second, I think it would be very shocking and lead to some good stories. It would be interesting to see how they would recover from his death. Jean would probably have some more issues and a new field leader would need to be chosen. Next to Professor X, I think Cyclops' death would shake up the Ultimate X-men the most.

I hope it's Wolverine... but it won't be. Probably Kurt, I agree that maybe he'll go out heroically.

I'm hoping for either Dazzler, Wolverine, or Jean.
