I prefer it right in there.Originally Posted by CapFan

I'm fine either way. I think it's not only the chin, but the overall result.

Goodbye León (november 16th, 1993 - june 12th, 2009). You were, are and always will be the best friend I ever had. I will always love you and never forget you. And please, please forgive me.
Thank you for teaching me about love, patience and caring. Rest in Peace, my friend. I hope that wherever it is you are now, you can run and play as much as you want.
Paradox: "We're comic geeks. The word "shame" lost its meaning long ago".
Blade: [noticing vampire tattoo] You're human.
Kounen: Barely. I'm a lawyer.
Patton: Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.
I like the wide chin in styles where everybody has one, ala McGuinness.
Prefer the narrow chin and the high hairline (ala Swan) in general though.
Whoever is drawing Action Comics at the moment has Superman down as far as I'm concerned. Chin and all, haha.
Life handed us a paycheck and we said, "We worked harder than this!"
Ironically, both of those examples were drawn by Dan Jurgens.

The original was a more narrow chin, but the creators broadened it out in their newspaper strip, and it was done more widely by Boring and Plastino. I'd go with the original thin though.

Civilly disobeying the law of gravity.
There are certain superheroes that to me will always need a broad chin to convey their mythic image. Superman and Captain America come to mind. So yeah, I gotta go with the wide chin.
Wide/butt chin FTW!!![]()
Actually, Routh does have a pretty wide chin, even wider than Reeve. That pic in the first post doesn't really show it well. Maybe someone can post a better pic.
Just ask Alex Ross. THAT chin. :)
The wider chin gives him an appearance of strength and charisma, while the narrow chin makes him look sickly. Of course, an extreme in any direction can set the character off balance. The thickness of the chin has to mesh smoothly with the rest of drawing.
