    Default Golden Age Comics Trivia

Inspired by Lone Ranger and Cei-U with their trivia, I thought I would put together some questions that are directed solely at the golden age of comics since that is where my collecting interests lie. The rules are the same as Scott and Kurt and laid out which I have listed below:

"Answer as many questions as you can - DO NOT look at other replies before posting your answers.

Answer only once - do not edit your answers at a later time.

DO NOT use the internet for help. That will suck all of the fun out of it, as these will be easy to answer."

Let's end it this coming Sunday. I will tally the points and post them by Monday. To make it easier on me - all questions are 100 points.

Remember - THIS IS GOLDEN AGE TRIVIA so all character references are from the late 30s-mid 50s.

    1. List these characters in order of first appearance beginning with the earliest. Dates will be based on the cover date of the comic the character first appeared. A guess based on the object on the cover. I would actually assume that it's called her x compact, where x defines and probably alliterates with it.

    8. Who is the cover feature on Hit Comics #1? Who drew the cover? (100 points each)
    Captain Triumph. Reed Crandall.

    9. First Appearance. What title (you don’t need the issue number) did the following characters first appear? (100 points each)
    a) Doll Man - Feature Funnies (or had it changed its title to Feature Comics by that time? I'd assume that it had if you need me to be that specific on it)
    b) Doc Strange - Thrilling Comics
    c) Doctor Fate - More fun Comics
    d) Sargon the Sorcerer - SensationComics
    e) Fighting Yank - Hmmm... Fawcett or Nedor? Wow Comics (semi-guess).
    f) Grim Reaper - Never heard of him. Oh, a guess, something by Quality - Smash Comics
    g) Black Terror - Terrific Comics
    h) Plastic Man - Police Comics
    i) Black Condor - Crack Comics (unless it was Smash? I'm doing Crack and risking it).
    j) Angel - Marvel Comics (That title I am pretty sure on - i. e. before it changed its title to Marvel Mystery Comics as of No. 2.)

    10. Which one of the following characters was never cover featured on National Comics (vignettes count as cover featured)? (100 points)

    a) Uncle Sam
    b) Quicksilver
    c) Kid Eternity
    d) The Barker
    e) Wonder Boy
    f) Sally O’Neil
    g) Merlin the Magician
    h) Kid Patrol
Kid Eternity, the lead in Hit Comics from No. 23 or so.

Good quiz. You do like your Quality Comics, don't you? I own one golden ager (and two Atomic age ones), so most of the answers above are from memories not of comics, but of The Steranko History of Comics. So, if any answers are wrong, it's Jaunty Jim's fault, not mine... :)

I think we could use Cap's Honesty Ray around here...

    Damn!

I haven't been on the computer much since mid-week last week, so I didn't have time to put together answers for this one.

I probably would have hit around 40-50% of them.

    Nice set of questions.
