    Default Wildstorm U questions

I dont really know much about wildstorm besides having a very small amount of knowledge on the authority, but I figured I'd check it out a few of the books since it seemed like many of them were getting rebooted, and some with new #1's.

I have no idea what the hell is going on.

Besides Authority and Wildcats, are other books tying into this worldstorm event that might have a lot more story and a lot less random man walking around a corpse filled sub? Is there something I should have read previously to have half a clue as to what's going on or is everyone in the dark here? I figured that since these are #1's and that Grant Morrison writing thus bringing in a slew of new readers like myself, these issues would have been fairly accesible, but that wasn't the case for me at least.

Oh yeah, it's my first post, so hi.

I think you'll be fine going from here on the stories. If you want some back story, you might want to read on wikipedia about the different teams and stuff. The Gen 13 stuff seems like a total reboot, so you can go into that fresh. I understand being a little lost though, because I wasn't too sure about what was going on in Wetworks #1 since I never read that title. But I think after a couple issues, you should be good to go.

One thing I'm not sure about though, is this Worldstorm. Is that something big coming up or is it basically what happened at the end of the Captain Atom story and now we are just starting to see what came from that?

I think Morrison is building a mystery with this first issue and hoping that the mystery will intrigue new readers(such as yourself) enough to bring them back for the next issue. You're supposed to be asking these questions, you're supposed to want to know more, and you're supposed to want to check out other stories to figure out what's going on. That's what I think this first issue is about at least. It's a risky strategy but this is Grant Morrison. I think they're hoping that people will want to come back just to see what's going on with that first issue.

I'm personally of the opinion that every title EXCEPT Wildcats is set post-Worldstorm... while Wildcats (at least the first few issues) is set post-Armageddon and PRE-Worldstorm.... I think that the "Worldstorm" is going to be the results of the big Wildcats/Authority throwdown that you're going to see in the pages of Wildcats... and I think that the Authority is going to be occurring in the aftermath of that fight...

and I think it's going to borrow a little bit from Millar's run on the Authority with how this Worldstorm will be a result of the "big fight"... remember when Three-Willie Seth ripped the Carrier out of orbit and caused a rupture in the Bleed? I think that when these 2 teams go head-to-head... the result is going to be similar and it's going to send a ripple through reality with the Carrier being torn out from it's anchor in the WSU and tossed into the Bleed

Yep, there's a new book coming out called Stormwatch: PHD. Suppposedly some of the older SW characters have been brought back from the dead...they aren't the focus of the new book though.
