Default I Need Help Getting Into Ultimate Books

I've been buying a lot of trades lately, and I've decided that I want to start reading the Ultimate stuff. I'm aware that they use a shared universe in the same way the regular Marvel Universe does, and am curious as to what the reading order is within that context.

I'm new here, so if there's a thread for this already, please provide me with a link to it. Thank you for any help.

There's no real necessary read order, since the books are still fairly seperate.

If you need help organizing stories, this thread covers that pretty nicely. Italicized items are alternate realities that have crossed or are crossing with the Ultimate universe.

I would say that Ultimate Spider-Man is a very good series to read. It is well drawn and written. I am also reading The Ultimates and it is good as well.

I would love to see a comic-newbie read that thread, buy every Ultimate trade there is, and skip around page to page to make sure they read everything chronologically.

I will admit, that would be quite hilarious.

I just recently got into the ultimate line. I like it very much, but the 616 series is still my number one. There are some great stories in the Ultimate line though.

Being an Avengers fan, I started with the Ultimates. I got Volume 1 HArcCover, and picked up Ultimates 2 Vol one. Im also into the Ultimate Fantastic Four. I prefer this version of the FF more than their 616 counterparts. But that's just me. Ultimate X-Men and SpiderMan Ive stayed away.

    Start with that.

I'd say start with the first issues of any series, because they're all brilliant. If you want something a bit more light hearted and fun I'd say Spidey or FF, whilst grim and grit merchants should head for The Ultimates and X Men. All the early stuff is brilliant in different ways. Man the ideas were brimming back then...

My first jump into the Ultimate world was with The Ultimates. I also purchased Ultimate Spider Man vol. 1 and 2. I really love the Ultimates. Can't wait to dig into vol. 2.
