Smile Marvel Adventures The Avengers #6 *Spoilers*

Since this is the only Avengers comic book currently presenting an actual Avengers team, I kind of appreciate this title.

It's basically a redo of the old Hulk issue where the U-Foes first appeared, but leaving out all mention of how they were inspired by the Fantastic Four, and adding in the Avengers.

The Hulk gets most of the spotlight, both as Dr. Banner and his big green side. Favorite line: "Now Hulk smartest one there is!"

    Thumbs down

Giant Girl is kind of the mystery member of the team. We can presume fairly standard histories for most of the Avengers members, but not her.

I like that this version of the Avengers is friends with each other, the kind of folks who actually want to hang out together between missions. It's been a long time since the 616 Avengers had that feel. (And the Ultimates never, of course.)

It's especially weird seeing Hulk in that kind of setting. Almost reminds me of the old Defender days (back when the Defenders actually seemed like friends).

I think the Marvel Adventures series are really fun. It's nice to see that even though Marvel is doing a lot of things which seem darker and more adult like, they're still giving fans something like Marvel Adventures Avengers which appeals to an audience seeking something lighter.

I freakin adore this title...and so look forward to it. i love that Storm is a member of the team, it just makes my heart sing. (she needs to be on more covers though!)

i really wish Ororo would become a member of the main Avengers team, but i dont even know what it means to be an Avenger anymore in the Marvel Universe (another reason I love this title)

and Giant Girl needs an origin story stat! i don't know anything about her and i've been reading since the start of the series, hoping for a tidbit or two.

    Giant-Girl is Janet Van Dyne.

Given that Storm has basically distanced herself from the X portion of the MU, I definately think Storm possibility as far as the New Avengers is conernred. Since she's Panthers wife, if nothing else I'd expect her to show up on the reservist list (if there is such a thing).

But the problem is that given Panters role, he really shouldn't be a full time member of any superhero team. And to a degree I'd assume that applies to his wife.
