Waiting for Castle Waiting #2!!

Next week one of the best dang books returns with the second issue of its latest run: Castle Waiting #2! I'm just so excited I had to crow a bit!

Castle waiting is a beautifuly drawn and well written story about familiar fairy tale characters doing what they do best: Telling stories. This is not a post-modern, revisionist look at the material such as Fables, this is work crafted by a storyteller who loves this material and wants you to love it along with her.

Castle Waiting is one of the books I buy comics for. Sure I get the regular junk Marvel spoon feeds me, but the real meat and potatoes of comic books are in these small, love tempered small press books that come out fierce and infrequent. I'm always so happy when one of these little miracles is delivered to our shops.

If you've never given it a try I'd recommend it. Castle waiting is charming and engrossing. Knights, fairies, leaky castles and even a hobbit or two engage your imagination with thrilling tales of escape, lost love and valor.

-I have to stop gushing. Anybody else Super Stoked for this one?

I picked up the first issue of the new series, having heard lots of great things about the book. It was good, very quant (I mean this in a good way), I will pick up the next issue and that will make me decide of I'm getting the trades of the older stuff.

It is rather quaint in the same way Bone or Scary Godmother are quaint, but they are all still great and entertaining reads.
