TWOMORROWS GIVES AWAY BACK ISSUE #18 FOR HALLOWEEN!
This Halloween, TwoMorrows Publishing is treating the first 500 people who visit their webstore to a free copy of Back Issue #18. TwoMorrows (publisher of the comic industry’s top historical and "how-to" magazines) is offering this opportunity to try their acclaimed magazine—spotlighting the best comics and creators of the 1970s, ’80s, and today—in an effort to expose more readers to their top-selling publication.
"There's no tricks," said TwoMorrows publisher John Morrow. "Our hope is that, after sampling this amazing issue, even more people will start ordering Back Issue at their local comics shop, or subscribe. The issue's been on the stands for a few weeks now, and based on its popularity, I'm confident this is a great "sampler" issue for anyone who's never read the mag before."
Back Issue #18 is a 100-page "Big, Green Issue" featuring a new interview with and cover by artist Neal Adams, an Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow gallery with never-before-published art, and a photo tour of Neal's Continuity Studios. There's also a pencil art gallery by Dave Gibbons, and new interviews with Mike Grell on his Green Arrow work and Peter David on the Incredible Hulk, as well as a “Pro2Pro” chat between Gerry Conway and John Romita, Sr. on the Green Goblin and the death of Gwen Stacy. The magazine is edited by former DC Comics editor Michael Eury.
“In conjunction with Free Comic Book Day last May, we gave away over 2000 magazines at our website, and have seen an increase in both subscriptions and retail orders since then,” said Morrow. "This time, we're focusing only on Back Issue, which has quickly become our most popular magazine since its launch back in late 2003.”
Starting at 10:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, October 31, the first 500 customers who visit the TwoMorrows website (www.twomorrows.com) can click on the link for Back Issue #18, place it in their shopping cart, and it will be mailed to them at no cost the following week. A special "Featured Products" banner atop the home page will also have a link for ordering the complimentary issue. Because of postage costs for overseas shipments, orders sent outside the US will require a charge of $3, which can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or Paypal. The offer is limited to one copy per customer and/or address.
Since 1994, TwoMorrows Publishing has been focused on bringing new life to comics fandom through its award-winning magazines, trade paperbacks, and DVDs, encompassing a wide variety of pop culture interests.
Back Issue (& Alter Ego, for that matter ... the new title Rough Stuff would be a contender as well, but I've been having to pare down my regular purchases because of financial constraints) is on my LCS pull list, so I've already got this one, but I highly recommend it to anyone unsure about taking advantage of TwoMorrows' generosity.
I know these pubs are quality. I usually end up passingon them because I don't have the time to invest in reading these mags. Sometimes I just don't feel like I can get my $6 worth, or whatever they cost.
But occasionally I'll pick one up if they feature a creator I'm nutty for. I think the last one I got was the ALTER EGO that had the complete rundown of the Golden Age Marvel/Timely/Atlas books.
