    Default Gerber on Dr. Fate!

Good news today. As has been rumored for the past few months, Steve Gerber will be writing a new ongoing Dr. Fate series next year. There will also be a series of launch one shots by Gerber with Peter Snjeberg, Tad Williams and Phil Winslade, and Bill Willingham with Shaun McManus. I'm hoping Snjeberg will be the artist for the ongoing, but Winslade would also be an excellent choice, seeing that they've worked together before on Nevada and Howard the Duck. (I like McManus as well, but he's had his shot on Dr. Fate.)

That's really great news. Gerber is an excellent writer, and Fate is one of my absolute favourite characters. I'd love to see Snjeberg as regular artist on the ongoing.

I don't know much about Dr. Fate, but I'll probably have to check this out because of Gerber.

Can't wait. I love Gerber's surreal, crazy stories, especially his Man-Thing and Howard the Duck. This book should be awesome if they do it right (which all depends on who's becoming Fate).

Snejberg as artist ? He's the one who drew the secret files for the sentinels of magic if i'm not wrong.

Not really a fan of his art, count me out sad to say. :(

Gerber and Snejbjerg would be pretty much a dream line-up for Dr Fate

Great news. Here's hoping Steve can continue to have an ongoing series for a long, long time.

I've been jonesing for a Gerber fix ever since HARD TIME wrapped up, so I'll be picking this up. Dr. Fate seems like a bit of a strange fit for him, though.

Steve Gerber is the only writer in mainstream comics who's work is an automatic buy for me. So I'll probably be getting this. :)

Hmmmmm, Steve Gerber on Dr. Fate.

This might just work. Count me as another who may try out this one.

I doubt it. I don't think they'd do something so stupid as to destroy two long-lasting characters when they could improve upon them both. I'd like to see Ralph go back to just being a detective and the Helmet of Fate find a brand-new Lord of Order to wear it.

Considering how DC thought putting Hal in the spectre hood was a good idea at that time , i wouldn't put it past them to have Ralph Dibny become the new elongated dr. fate. ;)
