    Default Ultimate Anticipation (Previews)

Sorry, but after seeing the previews to Ultimate Power #1 and Ultimate X-Men #75 I'm even more psyched for tomorrow afternoon (if the shipment comes in Aus on time, I get to read them before all you Americans :P)... There may be controversy behind both titles but there looks like there'll be some great stuff and some lacklustre stuff...

I hate to admit the first thing I noticed about UXM was something I didn't like (Xavier called Pietro Quiksilver, seems a bit uncharacteristic of their relationship) but I'll give it a chance.

What about all of you others? Anyone else as excited as I am?

Gruenwald Doctrine is the best, haha.

It's true, though. The Thing's got some nerve calling the girls freaks when he should take a look in the mirror. ;)

Johnny's hair makes me cry. God, I hate Greg Land's tracer art. :(

I'm more annoyed by the fact that the women seemingly have no internal organs.

I'm excited too!!! There's a lot of great stuff comming out tomorrow and these two are near the top of my list.

I'm looking forward to the new Ultimate X-men arc because I'm hoping it will be a change of pace from the last story. And it's 48 pages. And it has a backup story by McKeever. Yay for comics. :D

That's because they are the Ultimate Serpent Squad.

No, it seems Bendis is pulling another Gladiator or Omega Red from USM-- An opening "Bond" style sequence with some sort of throwaway villain that leads into the main story.

    Well, Land said spoilers:
the girls fight Squadron Supreme, also, so they seem to have quite a decent-sized role within the mini.
end of spoilers Besides, the Ultimate universe is pretty baren when it comes to villainesses, so who knows when the Serpent Squad might show up again.

And for those who don't know, the Serpent Squad/Society consists of snake-themed villains from Gruenwald's Captain America (hence, the "Gruenwald Doctrine"). They were main villains for several years. I have an Anaconda site here. Or you can look up their individual entries on Wikipedia (I manage them, as well). *plug plug*

Gruenwald also wrote Squadron Supreme, I suspect that's where the doctrine comes from rather...

Oh, I never read SS. But, I suppose it could be a jab at both. :P
