I got excited about Pipeline this week thanks to the Previews popcast. I get a kick at going through Previews and loved listening to what Augie and Jamie did.

Here's my list of books for this week:

    • Escapists #4 (Of 6), $2.99 - One of the best titles Dark Horse (or anyone else) is publishing today.
    • Gen 13 #1, $2.99 - I'm an old school Wildstorm fan and I loved this series back then. I think Gail Simone is a perfect pick for this series and I'm excited to see Talent Caldwell drawing this book. This should be fun.
    • Green Arrow #67, $2.99 - If there's one DC book I'll pick up every month its this one. One Year Later has made Ollie a much more interesting series than it was right before Infinite Crisis and during.
    • Tales Of The Unexpected #1 (Of 8), $3.99 - I couldn't get into the idea that Hal was the Spectre. I'm having a hard time with the current incarnation, but this series is something I'm curious about. I'm just hoping I can get through the Spectre stuff.
    • Worldstorm #1, $2.99 - Eh. Why not? I'm picking up most of the new Wildstorm stuff so I'll pick this one up.
    • Battlestar Galactica #2, $2.99 - I don't watch the television series (ducks) and I've enjoyed this book somewhat with the first two issues. This issue wasn't too bad. The art is what's getting me. I'm holding out for some growth with the art over time.
    • Bomb Queen Vol 2 #1, $3.50 - I missed the first miniseries and picked it up in trade - awesome stuff. If you're looking for madness in your comic get this one.
    • Annihilation #3 (Of 6), $2.99 - This is a great miniseries and I'm really looking forward to how this one will end knowing that there are a good number of miniseries and ongoings spinning out of it. FINALLY! Marvel Cosmic is rocking!
    • Ultimate X-Men #75, $3.99 - I've not been reading this series. I think I stopped reading after the first twelve issues and I've been picking it up in trades, but even then I'm about three trades behind. I'm a Cable fan (sorry!) and I'm curious to see what the Ultimate Cable is like.
    • Dead At 17 Vol 2 #1, $3.25 - If there's a book that flies to the top of my stack this week - its this one. I loved the trilogy of volume one and I'm EXTREMELY excited about this new volume.

Big week again. It seems like they're all big weeks. Need to get on the dcbs bandwagon. Here's the list.

    DC Comics/Vertigo:
    52: Week 23
Another week, another issue. Wasn't killed by last weeks issue, but this is a Black Adam issue it looks like, so hopefully it'll be better.

DMZ #12 Still one of my favorite series. Great art, great writing. can't wait.

Fables #54 Another what more is there to say book. can't wait for more Adversary war plans, and to find out what Hansel is doing.

Green Lantern Corps #5 The last year has made me a big Guy Gardner fan. I like a lot of the cast in this book. Fun stuff.

    Image
    Pirates of Coney Island #1
I'm a fan of Rick Spears stuff, so I ordered it on that alone. Art looks pretty interesting as well. We'll see how it goes.

    Marvel:
    CW: Front Line #7
Time to see what torture they put poor Speedball through this week. And we'll see if the Wonder Man story inches towards having some sort of point.

    Powers #20 Finally!

Ultimate Power #1 I'm not a huge fan of Greg Land's art, but these Ultimate mini's are usually decent, and I like both sets of characters enough to warrant this.

Ultimate X-men #75 Cable! This should be a pretty different take on the character. I'm curious to see what they kept and what new stuff they cam up with. Kirkman's run has been hit or miss, so we'll see how this goes.

    Devil's Due:
    Dead@17 #1
I'll give this a look but will probably drop it quick if it's no good.

    Trades for the week
    Oldboy Vol 2
    Manga for the week!

Ares: God of War Been looking forward to this one. Heard good things.

Captain America: Winter Soldier Vol 2 I can finally read that CA:Red Menace trade that came out last month. Again, heard nothing but good things and liked the first Brubaker Trade.

pumpkn face-thanks, I really like what I've read so far. I will be sure to update the list after I get back tomorrow. I'm golfing today after work if I don't freeze to death.

Fall golf is the greatest. Much less in the way of sweating that way. =)

Sadly, you tend to lose more golf balls in the leaves.
