    So am I!

But I'm a classic fan so I'm MORE excited that the further adventures of Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the original cast are still to come!

I can't believe that TNG premiered 20 freakin YEARS ago!!!!!!

I remember watching Encounter at Farpoint Part 1 the very first night it was on.

I'll be happy to see both, but I think leading with TNG was the right decision. It's mainly the older fans (ahem) who identify with TOS. TNG is the crew the majority identify with today.

Btw, you think you feel old? I remember watching TOS during its original run when I was a teenager.

I'll be checking this out, as well. Though I'm far more partial to TOS, TNG was good for awhile, and I would like to see what a comic can do with it.

I just find it cool, that companies like IDW and Dynamite are coming out with older shows, in comic form. I also can't wait for the original Battlestar Galactica (Dynamite) to come out as well.

Shadow... I was watching on that same night as well. And, IMHO, Encounter at Far Point was one of the best ST episodes ever. Of course, the best ST episodes ever were: The City on the Edge of Forever and The Doomsday Machine.

No, you must be mistaken sir, it seems quite impossible since I too remember seeing it when it aired. In fact I remember sitting in school excited that tonight was the night...

So no, it cannot have been 20 years ago, for that would make me old.

Nice that they are bringing it back to comics, but man, at this time I just can't afford to add yet another title to my list.

Looks great, every licensed property I've tried with IDW has been really well done.

    Come on, Deep Space Nine...

The novels they are putting out already are just what is needed.

You know, I know several people that think that and while I LOVED TNG when it came on, I was honestly disappointed in Picard. On the very first episode of the very first original Trek series in 20 years (at the time)... Picard surrendered the ship!!!!!!!!!

All I kept thinking was Kirk would have blown the sunuvabitch up rather than surrender it!!! Kirk had also faced Q like beings before and kicked ass. I thought Picard was a pussy (sorry ladies) for about 2 season to be honest.

No love for A Piece of the Action or City on the Edge of Forever?

First off, with all due respect to Headhunter, DS9 was only good in the first, and part of the second season, after that I couldn't really stand it. An episode here and there were alright, but for me, it crapped out.

Agreed, to a point. It was something different from the "gung ho, devil may care" attitude, which of course we came to love of Kirk, but the new captain had to be a bit different, and for me it worked.

Agreed. And, in the original, that was supposed to be the way it was. To be any different, would have sucked.

I mentioned City on the Edge of Forever. Probably THE best episode of a ST series ever. As for A Piece of the Action, it was damn good, but not as good as The Doomsday Machine. I liked how they seemed to do a good mix of sci-fi/fantasy and faux-reality type stories, and I'm sure if there is anything to say about why people watched, this was one of those reasons. Another damn good episode was, The Changeling.

BTW, I know how you feel about being 10+ years older than the other students. I'm almost 35 (December), and I'm about 10-12 years older than most of the people I goto law school with.

    GO CANUCKS!

Wow, I've never heard anybody say this before. Most people (myself included) seem to feel that DS9 only hit its nitch at the end of season two, and it was seasons three and on that were great. IMO, DS9 seasons 3-7 were the best Trek ever to appear on TV.

Original and TNG, for me, was and always will be the only Star Trek to watch. DS9 was an interesting concept, that I just couldn't get into...
