Default CBR NEWS: Cable Guy: Kirkman talks "Ultimate X-Men"

Next week in "Ultimate X-Men" #75, a storyline begins that will see the return of the Big Gun '90s, but done Ultimate style, as Cable makes his Ultimate Universe debut. CBR News spoke with "Ultimate X-Men" writer Robert Kirkman about the "Cable" story arc.

God... I still hate that they're bringing in Cable, Bishop, and Time Travel. :(

Yay! The Ultimate X-Men are catching up to events in Ultimates! Now, I just have to wait for Spider-Man to follow suit.

I'm not thrilled with the time-travel idea, but as the interview says, maybe when I get over it I might enjoy the story. That is if Kirkman really changes the way he's been writing the book. Well, at least there's no Magician on this arc. And although I'm no fan of Ben Oliver, his art doesn't look as bad as the previous one in the previews. I guess we'll find out next week, but if this turns out to be as bad as the Magician arc I'm quiting this book, I'm giving Kirkman a last chance.

That page of them fighting the Liberators is kinda weird. I didn't think al-Rahman was involved in rounding up those guys.

This issue par takes during the X-Men fighting the liberators? Oh well as tobeo says, I'm giving this title one last shot for the sake of cable. Besides cable did say that he did'nt give it his all before on the title and now he's giving it his all and when he does that, he devilers the goods to the fans.

I don't beleive the fight with the Liberators is real. It appears to be a Danger Room simulation.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Sort of what Vaughan did in the first Annual with the Ultimate Six. However, this time is done by Kirkman, so who knows how he will mess it up... I really, really hope he improves his work with this arc, because seriously, he has been terrible so far.

Man, I really wish Raney was drawing arc. Olivier's art just seems so flat and boring to me. :(

Ugh. Time travel. Sorry, but I'll pass on this one.

I did, however, like the fact that Wolverine was taking on the Abomination and Col. Al-Rahman at the same time. Shows what a badass he is IMO.

Of course, then he'll probably go and get tooled by this geek from the future with some guns and cybernetic arm.

I'm really quite curious as to find out why Quiksilver was there, hoping for some decent (non-biological) uncle-nephew type dialogue... I hate Kirkman's run but maybe this will be the redeeming one...
