Default Justice League of America: Special Covers - make the bad man stop.

So, I was wondering when the special covers would stop for the new JLA. I can see the draw for a 1 in 10 on issue #1, but so far I see a 1 in 10 up though issue 5... it's getting old and expensive.

Anyone know when DC will stop this and go back to just one cover per issue?

Expensive? You don't have to buy both covers.

Seconded. Just buy the cheapest one.

Give it a try, pseudo. When I did, I found it rather freeing.

I don't mind it for the most part. However, in some cases (like JLA #2) I like the variant more than the regular and even though it's only $1 more I still can't stand to spend the extra money. It's terribly upsetting. And by "terribly", I mean practically nonexistant.

Dont have to buy variants of any comic book, not like the insides are different or you dont loose something.

I dont buy variants to often unless its something I really like. Like the new nightmare on elm st that came out, I spent 3 more dollars on the variant just because I am a avid horror film fan, even then if other issues were variants I would still get the normal ones.

Variants are like leather seats in a car or a electric toothbrush. You dont have to have them and dont loose anything by not having them but if you want them then you have to pay for it.

Variants make me want to pull out my hair, but thank god DC isnt bad at it like some.

My girlfirend is into all the ASPEN comics and every single comic has atleast 4 covers to it. Talk about insane.

Isn't that Turner's label? He does love those variants.

Anyway, unless you're getting them CGC'd (or they're especially fantastic-looking), there's no real reason to buy the variants.

As long as people keep buying the variant covers, DC and Marvel will keep making them, and making money off of them. If you can control yourself, you can stop the suffering immediately, at least for yourself.

I still don't get the "i'm so angry i have to buy every cover" gripe.

Buy the one you like most. If you want to, buy more. But don't complain about it. It's like bitching about broccoli. If you don't like it, don't eat it.

I just wish the regular covers would stop. I could have sworn Michael Turner was announced as a "Marvel exclusive" just a few months ago? Why's he still here?

Actually, Marvel's done a variant interior once or twice. Ultimate Spider-Man #54 and Wolverine #32 both had variant editions where the insides were different.

I never have that kind of problem. There aren't any "variant covers" for trades.

DC started it with Team Titans #1 (9/92). There were five different #1 issues, and the first half of the book was different in each, but the first halves were each free-standing origin stories. Also, the horrible '90s version of Outsiders started with #1Α and #1Ω (11/93), which had different first halves, both of which were necessary reading to understand the second half. At least that one had a kind of cool cover concept.
